Its more Roleplay then what they are doing currently.
Um, you didn't answer Inaeroth's question. You just restated what you already said.

There isn't any RP in exploiting the declaration system. RP has nothing to do with what i started this topic about.

Blaah about agro pulling. That has nothing to do with this exploitation. When we were helping The Soul out the other night with their outpost, plenty of people were dragging agro onto us. Agro dragging didn't stop The soul declaring war on their outpost and taking it (CONGRATS AGAIN).

Let me put it another way. You need to talk to The Kami Preacher at the Kami Sanctuary to be able to get into the event lands. But say the Kami preacher wandered off, or better yet, someone kidnapped him, so that noone could even get to the event lands to be able to fight over the Mats.

This arguement isn't about what happens when we are fighting over outposts, rather its about not even getting the chance.

I understand why you would exploit like this, it's not your fault your intelligant, its nev's fault for allowing such a blatant exploitation to happen in the first place.

Hope you understand me better now, not the best analogy, doh.

Written enough in this topic to last me a few months hehe

This will be my final post on this subject. I've made my views clear.

This post was made by Final because he could not bribe and bargain his way into making me remove an agreed declaration I have with another guild. His offerings including false declarations. So you see this isn't about any kind of moral high ground, but about not getting his way because I wouldn't do what he wanted. The RP (even if he didn't think he was) was good til he lost his temper. It could have become so much more if he'd just run with it instead of complaining.

How is the false declaration more RP? It has opened up a gateway to interaction and RP with a guild I had formally had littleinteraction with. The agreement has blossomed into a trade agreement and a friendship. There is a million time more RP in that than a bunch of PvP. It also allows for guilds to hold outposts diplomatically which Nevrax hasn't allowed for. It opens it up for other guilds to try to wheel and deal with the allied guilds, to try to break the agreement. To try to cause a backstabbing. The possibilities are endless really. Besides the cost does build up even for a rich guild. It takes time and organisation between the 2 allied guilds.

but you're not winning anything. You're just preventing others from attempting to attack an outpost.

Hardly seems fun for anyone else.

I for one can't wait until someone does get to declare war on your op. All those people you have annoyed, fighting against you.

That'll be fun for everyone.

Sigh, end with your accusations there kos. But your right i did loose my temper, after waiting for days for the chance to declare war, only to find that i won't get this chance, because of this exploit. What goes around comes around anymoo. Again i don't blame you for what's going on. But as soon as Nev fixes this problem. Ima get ya :P I wasn't even going for your outpost, as you have known for a veeery long time, but what the hey..

Man! Why didn't I think of that! The devs did actually allowed for something similar - the area around the temples was pvp so you could sit at the temple wait for opposing factions to come in with their activated flags and nuke them so they couldn't drop off mats or craft. Or you could enter the zone to activate your flag and then camp at the tp waiting for players to enter in the region with their flags set and unable to react as their systems updated. The players themselves decided this was a dishonorable act.

Its going to be the players to decide what is acceptable. Dragging aggro, killing unprotected harvestors, camping the temple guards for "easy" faction fame *whistles*... if they aren't exploits its poor sportmanship. Guilds declaring war on several outposts at a time the minute the OP patch went live seems like an exploit. Friendly "attacks" to prevent unfriendly attacks does seems like an exploit. (Storing mats on the vedors and completing crafting missions "by proxy" aren't - so say the devs).

Players will always find a way to exploit the mechanics. Some exploits get fixed by the devs, some are "fixed" by the players. Eventually those who have friendies "attacking" them will be betrayed. Or the shinyness of the new "content" will fade and we'll claymoure on about something else.

I'm hoping to hold the BM Outpost long enough to complete the research I'm doing on outposts. It should only take me a few months :) so don't attack it!

Of course...because you can't do anything of that sort when you ally yourselves (saying you in general terms) with a guild for mutual defense or have a trade aggreement/friendship to defend each other in case of an attack.

Doesn't it tell you when the declaration was made? You can be there to click "declare war" when the timer runs out.
