Hi,
I just joined this game a few days ago, so this might have been asked/answered a few times but didn't find any recent post searching - so here goes....
When I arrived in Zora I did a rite (or think I did?) 'Chest of Wisdom' or something like that, that involved speaking to a few different ppl. in Zora and ended up by getting an entry in my encyclopedia (I did expect to get an amber cube too though?).
Now I seem to be stuck at what to do though - from my compass I can choose a waypoint to Cai-Ci Du (I think it is - the Zora sage) but he doesn't want to speak to me really - I can only ask 'Who are You'. I've been trying to speak to 'all' ppl all over Zora, but noone seems to give new rites (or more info regarding amber cubes).
Should I just concentrate on leveling (30 in offensive magic as of now) to open up new rites? Or am I missing something essential somewhere?

Zorai rite(s)?
Re: Zorai rite(s)?
Rites are a mystery not meant for everyone.
First let me welcome you to this fine game. The rites however do require a bit of commitment. You will need to rise your fame with Zorai people to over 30 in order to do any further rites. Try doing a lot of different missions in the meantime, some of them will open a new theme in your Encyklopedia.
Aside from that I would suggest checking out the reference sites like Ballistic Mystix or Ryzom Database. Unless of course you consider it cheating. There should also be a number of people in game who can help you further, just use the region chat.
This game is not straight forward like some of the games out there. The rites are thus not something you *need* to do to progress and the game won't guide you anywhere by itself. Exploring, talking to people and gaining overall experience in game is what will get you further. Post your character name and when you usually play here, so that people can find you in game.

press 'j' ingame (i think it waas j for tasks window) and check what you need to do next. if you dont have anything there, then dont worry about mission bookmarks.sr141174 wrote:Now I seem to be stuck at what to do though - from my compass I can choose a waypoint to Cai-Ci Du (I think it is - the Zora sage) but he doesn't want to speak to me really - I can only ask 'Who are You'. amber cube is just an entry i your encyclopedia. it's not item.
Because Ryzom is not quest/mission based game (no xp from doing them), then go out and lvl/have fun/explore.
enjoy the dp while you can

Re: Zorai rite(s)?
If someone has a rite that you don't have the fame or requirements it will be greyed (actually it may be reddish) out as well. Right clicking it will tell you why you cannot get it yet.

Re: Zorai rite(s)?
Thanks for the feedback, I think I might have a look at the links
As for my character name: Erialor
I don't mind the game not holding my hand and guide me through the steps I have to undertake - I was just curious as if to I had missed anything as I couldn't seem to find anybody wanting to give me any rites, and I was/am still able to ask some of the sages 'Who are You' and they kept telling me about amber cubes and such.... though I got the encyclopedia-entry
Again thx for the feedback - and Merry Christmas/Happy Holidays or whatever is political correct these days

Re: Zorai rite(s)?
Ah yes, the famous amber cubes. These things had me so very much confused at first... Basicly an amber cube holds a fragment of knowledge, in the form of a stanza which does.. something. You collect amber cubes by doing rites. Note, all civilizations have rites you can collect.
The amber cubes are stored in your encyclopedia, your 'big book of knowledge, usefull and otherwise' so to speak. It's sort of like a collection you carry around.
Your encyclopedia is made out of chapters, for example the 'Chest of Wisdom' which is the intro rite to unlock the more advanced rites. Secondly your chapter has missions, these can be, collect this, deliver this to someone, kill this, make this, go look there, etcetera and so forth and so on.
Once you collected the missions that go with the rite you can do the rite, provided you have enough fame. And once you have the rite done you have collected an amber cube!
Have fun collecting!
