Ok - this is what I hae already been able to work out

It maybe wrong - but here goes

A guild gets an outpost can put in a drill.

The drill can either produce
only xp crystals
or xpcrystals and another consumerable
or xpcrystals, consumerables and the special mats

xpcrystals - already seen

the consumerables affect con, dex or other stats for 1hour - amuont of increase depends on level of drink

the mats - very rare - only turn up slowly

when you look at patterns either drill or tree bore - the pattern has a name then jen or duk then what it is

eg vedice - jen

this means the pattern will need one of the mats - from a drill (jen - jena) and the mat will have to be vedice - think that is a sap

each drill can only (I think produce) one kind of mat

need

armilo or rubbam mats for tools also need new type of tool
egrios or greslin mats for picks also need new tool
tekom or vedice for all new weapon patterns - plus existing skills and tools
maga or cheng for the amplifiers and normal tools

so eg for 2H sword have normal high quality pattern, 8 shell, 8 bark, 8 fibre and 8 node plus either 1 tekom or vedice mat

how the new mat effects the final pattern eg what properties it has - I do not know yet

but it seems different outpost will specialise in different types of mat

hope this is clear and correct

So you have to trade to actually get all the mats together to make something.. Or get enough outposts for all the mats

If there is only one mat used per pattern, then the colour isn't going to have much effect anyway.

Only one per pattern, and so far only tools/picks/weapons.. no armor

Sofi might be slightly off topic but it's a useful post nonetheless. Maybe people don't want to share the info about what they have yet as they might not want other guilds lining up to declare war and get their precious mats
