Problems Stemming From The Last Event

Post by livefire »

To all those whom seam to have a problem with the way that the last event was played.

After being offline for a while towards the end and after the event, I have recently come across what I would class as
Extremely Childish behaviour stemming back to the way in which certain players and guilds played the last event.

I am one of those that seems to have upset some other players by my actions in the event. While in the event I could to some point understand their problems but did not aggree with them. What I can not understand is why these select players are disgruntled now the event has finished, I mean all the problems where really with the way the devs setup the event.

It was a FACTION vs FACTION event, with the sole basic directive of get to the mats and hold the ground for the harvesters to collect what they can. This meant attacking the enemy FACTION and either driving them back or killing them outright, and as in real life, war claims many a harvesters life. Once the harvesters have the mats they can port back and either craft or dump for a crafter to make the mission item.

This is a cycle that continues until the end of the game and balances out.

The way the other players wanted to play It, with PEACE treaties and let there harvesters dig here cause where mates does not play the game the way it was designed to be played. If you are behind in your factions target then letting the others harvesters dig can be cruitial to your defeat.

A very basic concept that proved very difficult to get right.

I have no hard feelings to any other player stemming from this last event and if I did have a problem with the way something was planned, I would take it to the people that made it that way. Yes I mean the devs, I would contact the devs either directly or through a GM and let them know of these problems that are being developed within the classes of players during these events.

My apologies if I have again offended someone with my comments here today but just had to get them off my chest after seeing such a display of childish behaiour.

The Main Moral is…….. Stop, Think then act.

Thanks for your time….

I, for one, have no idea what your talking about. The enemy I had when serving Jena during the event are just homins saying howdy now as they always have been. If you maybe did something to brand yourself then that can be done without an event...

Not sure as to why this popped up here and now, but I'll defend WK here since he worked very closely with Infinity in the old lands. WK is by far one of the most noble and honorable people in Atys. Hes always been eager to help in any way possible and he and the other Mysitc Knights are truly one of the greatest guilds among us.

In my opinion, you've no need to explain yourself or any of this, WK. We all played the event how we found it to be played. Some attempted to only dig, but with no fighters, fell easily to the enemy. Those who did fight, fought to honor their faction and to slow the progress of the other temple. And as for those who seem to take the event too personally, well, I pity them. It was an event, and in the end, we all got what we wanted, a temple. (I'm sure some neutral char will pop up here and say they didn't, but remember this was faction vs faction event. Neutral has no faction, and thus, was not intended to be a part of this event. Also the rewards are from the kami and karavan. If you're not with them, then don't expect them to hand you gear)

Just because the event has ended doesn't mean the story has stopped. That event was part of the story. To those who aren't roleplayers, this means nothing to you. And that's fine. But to those many who are roleplayers, and yes there are alot of us, the story continues on and that event was a big piece. That event formed opinions, views, friends and enemies.

Its all one story, not jsut individual seperate events.

I fully agree with Kostika.

Episode 2, to the point we know it now, is only the start of many events, that will drive the story. So don't be sorry if you are accounted for your actions during the event. They are now part of the impression your character left on the surface of Atys, and in the minds of your friends and foes.

What the devs/game masters gave us is a stituation to solve within our capabilities, and the peace treatys White Knight mentioned were one way to encounter this situation. The killing of unprotected harvesters was another one.

If you now encounter a homin, who doesn't endanger his life to resurrect you, or just refuses to heal you, remember that its decision might be based on your actions, and what you have done to him during your time on Atys or during the 'Temple of the Gods' event.

whats wrong with peace ? in war, everybody loses

nevrax puts game mechanics in place and gives a few pointers and goal (missions).
it's the PLAYERS who decide how they play it out.
we can only blame nevrax about game mechanics not for player decisions.

"You nuked me in old lands, you not my friend anymore" is totally understandible. even now, when old lands are gone.

ever heard of consequences ?

"it's just a game" you say ? why you so upset then
