After all the work I did to increase all my cicivlizations to a + value in order to do rites. Now I loose them??

What fun is that for me??

Does anyone know how hard it is, and how much work is involved to get a + faction in ALL civilizations??

You know your just proving to all the poeple who left that more impossible options will be applied to this game. If this goes on Ill not have to worry about quitting playing Ryzom, youll put youreslf out of Business like Earth and Beyond did!!! Thats bad too, such a good game!!!
As much as I hate feeding negativity, I have to agree with you. When I was playing SoR (yes, these changes that are about to go live have already driven me away) I had 66-87 positive fame for all civilizations. That took A LOT of work and I did it for two reasons: 1) In preparation for better rites to be released later that would require higher fame. 2) Nevrax had mentioned in previous months that fame would make a bigger difference later down the road.

As I mentioned in a previous post, Nevrax is mastering the art of alienating their current playerbase by these fame changes, and moreso with global FvF PvP which results in the loss of multiple TP's in zone's that are difficult to get to without them. Sometimes I have only 30 minutes to play, so how much does it help if it takes me 30 minutes to get to a zone because I can't buy TP's there anymore? Stupid and impractical. I was a lvl 250 PR forager who has no interest in PvP and therefore no interest in being a part of the kami vs. karavan conflict and would obviously remain neutral, so what's my reward with these changes? "You just threw away a few hundred hours of digging because we're gonna take away any practical access to PR! No more TP's for you!" The sacrifices that players are being forced to accept with these changes are not balanced out by the rewards. I realize that a base for all these changes are things Nevrax has wanted to do from the beginning, but the way in which it's being done is just bad, bad for morale of the current playerbase because it doesn't really help anyone, it only makes it harder or impossible for people to do the things they want to do in the game, bad from a practical standpoint, bad from a business standpoint, and simply put, bad for Nevrax's income, which isn't good for a small company who's already in trouble financially. It really was a great game with so much potential. There should be laws against companies who screw up their games to the point of inevitable doom and let down so many people unnecessarily. These changes are obviously not designed by people who play the game with any real play time. :(

I like the new changes and think they are long overdo. I think Nevrax needs to make these changes to keep the game alive. Fame has a meaning now and we are finally getting needed content. It seems people see change as bad, I see it as a new challenge. We will haft to get out of the rut we are in and find new ways to achieve our goals.

Agreed in full, TBH having access to Kami TP's all this time has been a bonus I have not earned so am not really losing them.

By making the rites FINALLY have restrictions they have added flavor to the races at last. Won't be quite so much same homin, different skin... This may be how they give each race their unique qualities. This brings us back to why a race/cult would want to bestow a rite on a homin that did not swear allegiance...

We are moving painfully slowly forward... I am having trouble bearing the slow advance but glad it is creeping along. Many of us have waited for this game to have meaning a long long time...

The gameplay reason is quite simple: it will avoid having enemies in the same guild. If several players are “pro-” PvP but from different sides, they will become enemies. Your allegiance comes first; being part of the same guild doesn’t nullify it.

From a roleplay standpoint: gathering people from different sides would surely raise some tensions inside the guild. Please imagine: having both Kami and Karavan people together would make the guild pretty unstable from a religious/politics standpoint.
So they're telling us how to RP...and telling us how our characters should think and act...

Not necessarily!

Again, not necessarily. Not surely. If characters of different factions can get along, why not let them?

You might want to go back and read more carefully :D
A neutral guild has the least amount of flexibility. It will only allow neutral members. At least aligned guilds can have aligned and neutral members :p .

i have over 80 fame in all civ's and i'm welcoming the changes. it's been a long time coming, and surprisingly that reason we were given many moons ago for the non-working tp's turned out to be true :p

Q&A Round XVI - Answers Published

Post by climarc »

So, because I am neutral :
  1. I can not go from place to place like i used to. -Nevrax hinders my ingame travel.
  2. I can not go to "purple" regions . -Nevrax hinders my ingame progresion.
  3. But not only neutral: high fame karavan only travel Karavan, high fame Kami only travel kami.
  4. Seems to me Nevrax hinders everyone, one way or another, just to push their own agenda.
  5. My agenda? Just have fun in a game.
  6. Psst Nevrax, change your agenda go back and make it fun for all, like it was before - a great game with plenty to do for all. Yes keep PvP, FvF, but for whomever wants it; Outposts, kittin invasions all are good. But please do not encroach the game in a PvP + War box.
  7. Please Give Neutrals, Karavans, Kamis a rainbow or some other gadget they can travel to all places and be safe from guard attacks and all could have fun.
  8. If not, January 7 2006, Elijah leaves for better or worse - No hard feelings - Elijah hinders Nevrax pocket

To be fair, neutrals will still lose about 18 (excluding PR, and not sure how many tryker ones offhand) :o

But, place your bets now where the 2 newly added neutral TPs will be :p
