Maxes on ranged weapons?

I hear rifles max speed is 20 hpm and pistols is 30 hpm, but I don't understand how the hit rate stanzas work

I did some messing around and it seems that pistols might max out at 60 hpm, but I am not sure about rifles

does anyone know the ammo damage formulas?

launcher damage has changed alot since i last experimented

Just one thing. 20 isn't max speed for rifle, since I have a 22 lying around somewhere.

"hit rate" will double your gun's speed. altho it's not in description, you need to match "hit rate" lvl to your gun's(or skills, whichever is lower) just like acc.attack/inc.damage

Heh, rifles and bowrifles both go past 20. My present bowrifle's a 23, with 97% speed in the craft window. I've made 22 hpm rifles, but it's been a while, so I don't recall what the % was.

And what precisely do you mean by damage formula? Recipes? Damage/level? Damage/level seems to be about 3 per 2 levels for rifle/bowrifle.

Both Bowrifles and rifle has max rate at 24. range is max 40.

Ithought using hit rate +1 just upped your HPM from e.g. 22 to 23... Hit rate +6 from 22 to 28, etc...

Nope, like all fight stanzas the hit rate one needs to match either the level of the weapon you're using or your skill level, whichever is lower, to get the maximum effect. Try using hit rate +1 and then hit rate +9 with a quality 10 gun; makes no difference.

The hit rate stanza doesn't say up to which level it works, so you'll have to guess a bit using the credit cost and for what level the equivalent increase damage stanza works. The maximum effect of the hit rate stanza seems to be about 80% increase of your firing speed.

Ammo damage formulas? To get maximum damage on your ammo you'll need to use beckers or mitexi bark and gulatch or koorin oil, if that's what you mean. Choice material is sufficient to get the maximum damage.

If you meant the formulas for what the maximum damage of ammo is based on quality, you'll have to wait for Holina to reply ;)

Well for pistol the max damages are:

q10 - 45
q20 - 57
q30 - 70
q40 - 82
q50 - 95
q60 - 107
q70 - 120
q250 - 345

max pistol speed is 30 hpm, or 60 hpm with the hit rate stanza

which gives the formula: quality * 1.25 + 32

I was asking for something similar for rifle, and to see if the bowstuff damage is the same... but I guess I can do that on my own, there are similar formulas for all weapons

rifle damage

q10 - 59
q20 - 76
q30 - 93
q40 - 109
q50 - 126
q250 - 466

Which comes out to: quality * 1.7 + 41 (+/- 1 damage)

If rifle max speed is 24 and pistol is 30 then your max potential DPS with rifle is 372.6, compared to 345 for pistol, and you will be using far less stats...

But with a higher hit rate you might break up a mage cast more often? Plus pistol ammo has less bulk, 0.04 compared to 0.10 for rifle, however you can hold the same amount in your bag because they weigh the same....and the kg weight is the limiting factor..
