Ryzom Poetry

Post by korin77 »

I was bored at work and thinking about Ryzom among other things, so I thought I write some poetry. Please keep criticism to a minimum. I am not a professional poet.

Animal Madness

Bone shattering peels of Mektoub
Ragus through the turquoise sea
Havok rides the purple twilight
A Kincher off the simple beat
Yelk or Yubo smile renew
Scenes that passive dew Rendor
A Gnoof of nature in respite
Izam-ine it not nor wonder
I hope this rhyme you won't clopper
Kiban nor kipee laughter
Rather find it Cute or Javing
Not Stinga me for eons after
---

Stolen Poetry (parody of W.B. Yeats + Ryzom)

Where dips the sable islands
Of oath wood in the lake
There lies a few fey islands
Where flapping Ybers wake
The drowsy water bats
There we've hid our yellow saps
Full of resin
And the redhot stolen beets

Come away oh Tryker child
To the waters and the wild
With a Matis hand in hand
For the world is more full of Kipees
Than you can understand

Where the wave of wormlike mosses
The beige sands glow with light
By far of the furthest curses
We ran all throughout the night
Weaving olden reeds
Mingling weeds and mingling seeds
Till the gnoof has taken flight
To and fro we reap
And chase the frothy troubles
Whilst the lake is full of bubbles
And is anxious in its deep

Come away oh Tryker Child
To the waters and the wild
With a Matis hand in hand
For the world is more full of Kippees
Than you can understand.
---

And lastly, this one is not related to Ryzom except the fact that there are alot of us out there who probably feel this way and play.

Astray

A girl wandered up to me today
sad eyes with smiles all worn away
With whispers of joy in her violet eyes
cried out in tears run all astray

She spoke not a word nor sound awoke
but as we slept of the sea she spoke
of emerald waves where dreams arise
and jet black rocks that flotsams prize

Come sail away with me she said
and ride with me to death's simple bed
deep treasures the sea doth hide
but les we sleep we shall just ride

and away I said I shall be with thee
as I wandered into sleep
but when I woke the silence greeted
my simple dream was but defeated

For the girl had but gone away
and left not what nor where she stayed
the wind knew not what to say
only silently echo my sigh

Heres another one that I posted in the other Forum. Feel free to post your own!

The Clopper Feast

Hark'n the breeze across the bay,
the rippling satin of my crystal lake.
The rain greets my face this day,
a shower I need for goodness sake.

...and the cloppers are coming here today
...and the cloppers they are here to stay
Oh the heart of my love is torn again, like those dreams all worn away

As I dig for roots and bark in thought
a quiet creep of those tiny claws
the yellow menace that the guards have fought
the futile struggle for the aquatic cause

...and the cloppers are coming here today
...and the cloppers they are here to stay
Oh the heart of my love is torn again, like those dreams all worn away

Shells and bits across the sand
I got the coal for my cookout stand
As I gather the strewn and tangled meats
for our banquet of fancy seafood treats

...and the cloppers they are dead today
...and the cloppers they are here to stay
For my lover's heart is torn away, at least my stomach is full this day

Perhaps not, but it beats the hell out of reading another banal argument. :D

LOL what can I say? I'm bored, any conversation, even an argument, is still more fun than work.

I happen to be hitting a lull at work. They don't have anything for me to do til the data is fixed.

Thanks! :) In case you are wondering what the poem "Astray" has to do with Ryzom, its about death in the game. Thus the reference to death's simple bed.

I hope that clarified it some :) I know poetry is about interpretation but now you know my intentions :)

Also all of these poems have a Tryker theme to them. This is because I am a Tryker, and I also live by the sea in real life.

Here's a new one of the trip we took last night...

The Journey

Across Fleeting Gardens we cross the divide
among vicious gnoofs with teeth and steel hide
between chitinous monsters we snuck or sneaked by
and swam past murky trenches of filth and mud pie

Against fearsome cuttlers and tobaks we waged
a war to silence the peace that we raged
The citizens of the hovel quirked and let rose
the stings of a fury that we cannot reposte

Inside the lakelands we finally did buy
and an awesome monster we beheld and let die
Yet defeat was met upon the great stony mound
and the bandits's fiercesness took us to ground

We suffered and appeared in the floating tryke town
and crystabelle the fair we passed the way down
through fairhaven the jewel of the aqueous abodes
we recruited a number of the humble tryke toads

Onward to windermere we swam and splashed
past great cliffs where rocks and stones crashed
further to beaches of bounty we reached
the gates of it's borders so soon we breached

Death awaited us on those beaches of doom
which crowded with corpses lack space or much room
arose like ghosts with vengence and ire
we marched back to beaches and sands we admire

Finally the entrance to salvation we'd hoped
across the portal into the dank caverns we coped
and the struggled continued staunchly from there
with a hop a skip and never a care

And into the lands of the umbra we came
of hearts strong thats neither proud or with shame
The cities greeted us with lights and alure
the trek finally over. We've reached deep its core.
