each guild has its own requirements but generally they are open to most people.

there are many matis guilds around at the moment so you will have alot of choice.

level is usually not a problem as far as I know with every guild looking for some new blood (cept them naughty storage guilds ;) )

the questions you have to ask yourself is what you want out of the game

do you roleplay
do you want to take part in PvP
do you wish to support kami/karavan/neutral
do you like hunting more than digging
and most importantly do you like the people you are joining

joining a guild is quite a large step (imo) so choose well

I think most guilds will want to recruit no matter what your level, although many guilds may not have other low level members to team with you. Guilds come in all shapes and sizes. If one doesn't fit your style, another will. Make sure that you pick one with plenty of active members in your timezone.

Once you hit the mainland you'll see many there. Some of them will send you invites without even being asked if they see your unguilded. Shop around and you will find what you want...

You will be asked if you want to team up and hunt by many high-level players as soon as you get to the mainland. They will heal you, train you, level you, give you stuff, and then ask you to join their guild, heh.

I went off and started my own guild, anyway, though. I just randomly ask people who are not in guilds if they want to join… so far, I stole one person from another guild, recruited my girlfriend, and found two newbies who joined just because I asked if they wanted to. Only one person I asked declined. :-|

I am generally against people who team up with you just to get you to join their guild, but, truthfully, the only way to decide if you like a guild or not is to decide if you like the members or not. Spend a few days pretending you are a member, and hunt/train with their members, and see how many are around your level, etc.

I do not know much about other guilds, though, but just use your best judgment.

what Syd said, mostly ;)

lots of guilds have trial periods where the guild and new player get to know each other, at the end of the day it seems the only way to carry out recruitment is to recruit lol. And that means that as a newbie you'll be jumped on.

Standing advice to any new player is to ask questions of the guild, and to ask questions of yourself. If you have an idea of what u want from the game then it should be much easier to find a suitable guild. Dont be afraid to ask questions, and/or leave guilds if u dont feel happy.

Hanging out with a group of like minded people is the one of the biggest and best reasons to keep playing :)

Also check that the guild will be able to train you, is knowledgeable and can supply basic equipment.

My 2 cents on finding a guild...

Find a group that you make laugh almost as much as they make you laugh.... MMO's are meant to be quasi-social (least as social as you can get sitting alone and by yourself) ... so find a group who you have fun with... if they can make you stuff... help you level... and know anything about the game.... whoopee.... if not... it doesn't really matter if you're having fun with them.

Just my thoughts,
