I would like to point out another thing or two about the rewards. I think things were done fairly well around this, it is much better than the process that was required at the Kitin invasion. I think some lessons were learned.
Also, you did a good job in ensuring that the folks that were super dedicated did not get shafted with hundreds of thousands of worthless honour points. This in fact was a blessing and a curse. The folks who could dig Q250 and dedicated themselves completely earned bookuu honour points. These high level players who are arguably in the end game have basically been given the reward of being able to buy enormous amounts of the XP multipliers. In the process of doing this, the result is that a player that is already super powered has been almost forced into using their honour points to push themselves even further up the ladder.
I see this as a bit of a learning opportunity for you and wanted to point it out for your education.
Hope this helps,
Noin.

It really is a curse. I think all of the time I can't stop thinking. It is awful. I have found 1activity in the world that allows me to forgetabout everything else, and that is rock climbing.kuroari wrote:Noin thinks too hard.. *offers noin some oflovak's brew* there you go![]()
When you are rock climbing, if you want to stay alive, the only thing on your mind is rock climbing. That's all! Your not relly thinkingeither it's actually more about FOCUS!

Re: And the rich get richer.......
The math on this doesn't work out. The time spent in the episode 2 lands was time lost to leveling other skills, especially for the "super powered" players who were already master harvesters and thus were getting no direct xp for digging there. The xp we can gain back from the crystals is only a fraction of that lost potential.marct wrote:...the result is that a player that is already super powered has been almost forced into using their honour points to push themselves even further up the ladder.

However your Uber digging skills have enabled them to Power level a lower skill and move that ridiulously up the tree. I think if we work the math it appears to be a lost cause for an uber player.keoni wrote:The math on this doesn't work out. The point here is they just made the elite players more elite by having the only offering that is worth spending loads of points on be the reward that makes them more elite and it harder to make content suited to them.
An elite player spending loads of time in the event does not offset that Nevrax just added variables to the equation that made future events even more difficult to make for the elite players. (As a result of making them more elite.)
I hope that all made more sense.
Noin.
P.S. I think your argument would be fine if every 250 digger stopped digging in that land when they hit 250. But they do not they continue to serve another purpose even though they get no dig XP for it.

Re: And the rich get richer.......
Whats the point of being high lvl if there are no added rewards, the effort in grinding a craft or harvest tree is scary, for once they get rewarded for this untill now rewards where mainly aimed at hunters, i think this is one of the great things about this event, the importance of diggers, and them getting rewarded for it. If anything diggers shud be complaining, if u think back to past events, where nuker could get rewarded massivly for very little, diggers devoted alot of time and its great they are being recongnised.

Re: And the rich get richer.......
This is not about OH the diggers got rewarded... I think that is great too. The point is... That someone that is high level is basically forced into using all of their points to get something else high level.kyesmith wrote:Whats the point of being high lvl if there are no added rewards, the effort in grinding a craft or harvest tree is scary, for once they get rewarded for this untill now rewards where mainly aimed at hunters, i think this is one of the great things about this event, the importance of diggers, and them getting rewarded for it. I think it would have been good to have a few very high priced items... they would be like trophies or show pieces... A 25,000/50,000/100,000/250,00 500,000/1,000,000 point item. This goes to Jessica's frequent point that you can not pre-determin the outcome. When you look at the points and see people with 100,000 + points, 500,000 + points and 1Million plus points you should think about what there level is and how they will end up spending ALL of those points.
I would think that you truly would have wanted to evaluate the points people had in different categories say people level 0 - 60 | 61-110 | 110 - 160 | 161- 210| 210-250 to identify if the rewards were priced appropriately to give these folks legitimate rewards. By analyzing the average mean, and standard deviation of points in these groups, you could evaluate how to price items more accurately so that the highest level folks are not forced to basically spend hundreds of thousands of points to Power Level themselves and ultimately become more elite.
I feel like poeple are not understanding my point here.

I don't see this changing, specially with outposts
a) Outpots are PvP
b) Powerful guilds will hold interesting outposts
c) Some outposts will give XP catalyzers as rewards
d) Xp catalyzers will help powerful guilds getting more powerful
am I missing something?
