True.

Constructive means saying what exactly the problem is and how it can be improved or why it is a problem. (Yes, you can say something is bad, but you should add why exactly it's bad and how it can be improved.)

Could someone post a full explanation on the word "constructive"?

Actually, stating how something can be improved is not a requirement for criticism to be constructive. For example:

1) The event sucked!
2) The event wasn't fun for me because i got killed too much while i wasn't there for combat.

Neither one gave any recommendation on how to improve the "event", however #1 is clearly not constructive while #2 would be considered constructive feedback as it gave specifics on what was lacking.

does this mean, you (nevrax/jolt) will tell us (the players) when someone will be banned and why ?

i thought that went against your (nevrax/jolt) policies.

Surely (Nevrax, Jolt etal) doesn't want my kind of criticism tone = which is silence on the forum, cutting game play by a third (atm) and seriously thinking of leaving.

Fair enough you want to moderate the forums a bit more closely, i agree the atmosphere has degenerated a lot in recent weeks. However, due to the ig events recently (war) a lot of ppl are very upset and need to let off some steam. In view of this, wouldnt it be more appropriate to warn the players breaching the rules before slapping a ban on them.
Although some ppl have been very vocal in the past few weeks, because you changed the way the rules were enforced today, the decision to ban should surely be based on behaviour from this day on which imo would mean neither Kye or Jyu would really warrant a ban. If their posts were out of order, surely a warning would have sufficed as i for one couldnt see they were really that bad, Jyu was stating an opinion, and Kye sticking up for someone he saw as unfairly treated.

Anyway, thought id add my two dappers as im not posting here much any more, not due to the forum events (although forums are depressing these days) its more due to ig as the new content doesnt hold my interest.

I just wanted to say thank you to Xaviar for doing this. I know myself and many others I spoke to ingame have either stopped posting on the forums or stopped watching them all together for fear of being flamed.

I won't comment on the bannings as I don't think its my place to say, its between nevrax and the players imo so I wont get involved.

But if you can kill some flames then hopefully the forums will become a better place for all :)

Thank you Xaviar *hugs*

Xavier's post gave some voice to the feelings about this place I have been hesitant to make public. I have seen some horrid things going on in here, and it has influenced how I see some of the people who indulged in such things. It made me so angry, but there was nothing I could do. That's how poisonous this atmosphere is to me.

This is not about silencing critics. Xavier spells it all out there, but really any moderator could've banned dissenters and deleted unsightly threads in their lunch hour if they wanted and had license to. With the scarcest of exceptions they are allowed to remain for all to see at their leisure. Also, if they wanted to exercise forumside damage limitation why did they pick now to do this, when the ranting and raving about the ep2 changes are just getting out of everyone's systems? And on the back of an Executive's letter that was largely seen to be reassuring? Rather odd timing if that was their intention.

Nope, I will probably get banned.

Despite repeated warnings that forcing PvP into a more central role of SoR would make things worse for the community as a whole, Nevrax goes and does it anyway.

As the inevitible comes to pass, and the boards are thrown into flame wars mostly because of linking PvP to all too rare content, Nevrax tries to make things better by silencing criticism.

And the first victim, amazingly, is Grim...an all to rare voice of reason.

Do those of you who say this will help actually belive that, or do you just say that out of fear of being banned? Just wondering.

Censorship, the favored tool of the failing despot.

Making something constructive means "Serving to improve or advance" as you can see in http://dictionary.reference.com/search?q=constructive . Actually that serves or not to improve or advance must be decided for Nevrax. So what happened is that GrimJim tried to help to improve this game, and Nevrax said it was not contructive but besides they banned him. So, be very sure you can please Nevrax before posting.

An example of not constructive for me would be just joking about what Nevrax does. That wouldn't be constructive for me and for sure that person even didn't try to be constructive that is what really matters i think.

I have wondered why SoR being a great game didn't have as many players as other big games, things so unfair like this is what make people leave and that others dont join.

Also in game there are too much strict rules, it seems they just want to play this game 12 years children and their parents. Ppl needs to say things, sometimes you find a person that is ***** and its fustrating that you just have to leave. You can kill that person 11231232 times, but no words.
