The point of fighting in this event is to stop the harvester or guard your own. If all the harvester could just not take the fight mission, what would the point of fighting be? I don't go out killing other homins just for fun, I do so only if they stop me from digging.
This event is about two apposing sides fighting over the same resources and when homins fight someone gets hurt.

I think if you ask 99% os the PvPers especially those who do it alot they wouldnt tell you their reason for fighting was to defend their diggers, its clearly because they like winning and they enjoy defeating other homins (i should know, teamed with alot) Would just allow people to do as they please, people who enjoy pvp can go about it and no longer annoy those who are peacefull and would bring a whole new atmostphere to the game which is needed..... one step closer to being neutral.

Talking about selfish, the so-called anti-PvP people on this forum are some of the most selfish people I have ever seen in a game. There are a handful of anti-PvP people that thing this game that was always going to have PvP should change to suit them. Yes it is nice to make suggestions to make the game better but trying to force people to see things your way is selfish. Nevrax made a game that is going to have PvP in it, if your so against this kind of game style it may be time to move on.

There are ways to have PvP and have it be truly consensual or fitting.

Once you release a game it isn't truly yours any more, players will make it their own and go places you don't expect with it. The intelligent thing to do is to form a dialogue with that change and expectation and go with it.

Ryzom developed a reputation for excellent CSR support, a mature playerbase and excellent RP. All of which have suffered due to the PvP implementation thus far and don't look like getting any better with the rest, though at least there'll be a PvP flag.

No I'm not a big fan of PvP, but it can be fun in moderation. The idea you had would not have made the WHOLE player base happy. I would go, as far as to say, it would be less liked by the players then what we have now.

omg, If you want to go around shooting shuff and killing play a single player game, the whole point of an MMORPG is that you play with others, i like pvp alot, but i also feel people who dont shudnt have to be exculded from events, and the story line, a simple change would make the game more fun for EVERYONE!

I think the best think for me is to just stay off the forums and put some people in game on ignore. I play the game to have fun, not to have a text fight on the forums or in game.

It has only a couple of problems but those are probably easily worked around with your idea in place.

Maybe if Nevrax could initiate this idea it would stop alot of people who are thinking of leaving from doing so and also bring others back.

Its basically an PvP (in an FvF zone) switch on as soon as the fight mission is accepted... so simple, love it!!!
