Artistic and other changes needed...

Post by weedakos »

...i've been away fro a good 5-6 months and just got back a week ago...and since i like complaining, heres a couple of things that i think could do with a change:

Light Pants (all races) :
Males as it is either wear skirts or look like fools...
Give us a decent pair of pants to wear, God damn it

Personalised Armour:
Every armour has 2 main colours
the 1st is set up by the materials used to craft the armour
the 2nd is the colour of the detail [eg high q medium matis has turq, high q heavy matis has purple, high q matis light has purple]

allowing colour no2 to be picked via a dropdown menu while crafting with no effect on materials used is easy [just a pallete swap really-although i have no idea to the amount of work needed to intergrate such a thing] and would bring new life to armour crafting

Tatoos
Most of the tatoos are ..erm.. crap.
noone would be caught dead sporting most of them IRL...and some look like the designer just clossed his eyes and scribbled...atleast half of them need to be reworked as they look absolutely ridiculous...

Neutral PvP faction :
Exists??? i kno u cant be neutral in the old lands...
so its practically non-existent imo and needs to be intergrated erm...yesterday

--------------------------------------------------------------------------
PS. i really like this game have spent loads of hours on it and would be nice to see some annoying stuff get sorted...
dont flame me, but feel free to object to what i say and/or come up with something that bugs u off and ya think needs changing..

More hair options, and body tatoos as well, (arms, chest etc)

Lol, welcome back. I never met you the first time round, maybe I will this time :p

I agree on all fashion-related points, but I think it would take a lot of work that could (should?) be spent better elsewhere ;)

More options to express your character are always good. I'd rather see additional armour (or a lot of things that are just clothing) for RP purposes. We need hand items and props more though.

I agree withthe intend, although most definetely NOT with the tone.
A little less agressive would have worked very well, y´know.
Even IF you like Evile Ernie you don´t have to behave like him.

Ah and btw: Welcome back, almost missed your complaining amongst all the others... ;)

Edit: ah, and while we´re at it: A revamp of the Emotes is long overdue. It would be very nice if all the animations would fit their emotes.

I'll say, and some sleeves and gloves if they're at it. The females get those cool 'claw' gloves, and for sleeves its either the 70's shoulder-pad Matisian, the arm-band Trykan and Fyrosian, or the rather odd Zorian.

Perhaps for all armor types something akin to regular/caster pants; so you have regular/ceremonial/combat/caster/excavator armor variations for each piece, while still keeping the racial and quality options in there. That would be (5x4x3=)60 options per piece against the current (4x3=)12 - not counting colors, which there are certainly enough of.

They were talking about new crafting plans with the outposts, so maybe that's when new armors/everythings will come up(?)

I've always liked the idea of having more control over the colors of armor. I don't like that it's tied directly to the grade of material. Some of the colors on the basic/fine mats can make some fine looking armor (HQ beige, etc.) but the stats on the armor end up being bad because you have to use a lot of basic/fine mats.

Here's an idea I posted a LONG time ago....

I would also like to see a separate "dye" type of material that can be used in crafting to override the natural color of the materials used.

When I'm constructing my armor, I do so almost exclusively focused on getting the best stats for my style of combat. As such, I'm invariably led to a specific material and, therefore, am always wearing red armor.

By adding a dye material, you allow people to use the materials for the stats they want as well as customize their appearance. This certainly doesn't go against the "reality" of the game as the use of dyes exists in very primitive societies and would certainly be something our Homins are capable of.

Further, medium quality recipes could have 2 dye slots and high quality recipes could have 3 dye slots. This would allow you to control the secondary and trim colors too.

I think the use of dyes could be optional. Just add the extra slot at the bottom of the crafting window. If you don't put a dye there, the armor comes out the color it would in the current system. That way, nothing really needs to change in the quantities of mats needed to craft or the system for calculating the final item stats.

I noticed in one of the really early adverts for Ryzom that the clothing colours are infinitly variable. It also looked as if there was a main colour and a second colour. I am guessing the code is still there.

Wouldn't it be nice if the main colour was say the cloth/armour colour and the second colour the stuffing.

Or even fading between two colours!
