You are responsible for your reaction.

Come in, pull up a chair, let's discuss all things Ryzom-related.

But then the beetles clean up the poo right? And then everything is good again. And everybody comes back. And we all live happily ever after. Right? Please. :)

Maybe they can help, but I think it might need some intervention from the guy with the dumptruck too...

It's hard for me too not to try to be so blunt. But people react like they do because of their immense emotional investment in the game. And the companies that produce these games count on that investment for their own security, though they wouldn't admit it, because their customers would take offense. The players aren't foolish though, and the companies aren't evil. Just human. No one should judge the players anymore than the company.

But, if you want to know why people react the way they do, that's what it boils down to.

calana wrote:Way off topic... Acridiel, is that you in RL costume? That's one serious outfit!

Aye, this was his outfit on an RL-Meeting, believe me they had lot of fun.

Try and check out Acridiels sig, he stores a lot of goodies at his page that really remember me of almost forgotten times on Atys.

@topic well, for me its more like a restaurant I like to go and spend some money for nice food and chat with people I like - now someone came along, heavyly saltet the food and made people blame each other for that. Well all I could do was try to get things straight again - almost nobody listened so I left the restaurant for good.

That's no one's fault but your own. You choose not to like it. If you leave because of it, don't say Nevrax forced you to leave. You chose that too.
Have you considered that the very ppl you are suggesting should leave are the ppl who have stuck through the game through months of chapter 11, bugs, broken promises and lack of much content except what they made themselves. They have kept faith and kept paying their subs in the hope that something would be implemented which they could enjoy.

I dont have a problem with ep2 (although i have got 500 honour points then went back to digging in min cho and have been there ever since) and i think ppl on both sides of the fence have gone too far with some of their opinions hence very few posts from me since the patch. I do sympathise with the ppl who feel that Nevrax have kicked them in the teeth with the new content but i hope they will stick around long enough for the stuff they wanted to come into the game. Telling them to enjoy the new content or leave is just a little insulting imo.

Garbage springs to mind!

You can't choose to like something you dislike at best you can learn to tolerate it. But people don't pay to tolerate playing a game they play for relaxation and enjoyment. When an MMO changes direction during it's life it runs the risk of alienating a section of it's player base.

I know people will say but the content was planned from the start, but the fact is it was not implemented then which, is why there is such reactions from the player base.

People will leave if they end up just tolerating a game, they will also leave if they are hanging around hoping things will improve (from their perspective) once they give up hope.

I am leaving and I do blame Ep.2. I never even contemplated leaving until this came. Though it's not the event itself that pushed me away, it's the results of the event. Especially Nevrax's attempt to brush it under the rug by telling neutrals to play both sides. And then the final realization with the worldwide FvF announcement that they either don't understand or don't care about a neutral stance.

I didn't choose not to like this event. I walked into region several times trying desperately to see something in there for me. Then returned to digging. But this time instead of meeting people and chatting away the hours, I sat alone in silence. There was not one other person in region with me.

I also applaud Nevrax for pleasing the lust for PvP. It is important to please that audience as well. Apparently, they've done a great job in that. But have they really? The particpants of the PvP event are bored and talking about games that have better implementation of PvP.

Logged on this morning in the old AD land ... ported back to pyr ... visited the new lands ... 'Oh lakes, pretty!' ... dodged the kinchers ... stood with all my friends in the middle ... about 8+ Karavan (they were Karavan, I am forced Kami cas of the last but one patch) ... started to dig unmolested with about 30 hps for a close call with a kincher ... got killed by Simone (a side swapping player, for whom I had been digging spots all last week to level her Lake!) ... Logged to play EQII

Nervrax didn't spoil the game .... THE PLAYERS DID!
