Honor Points?

Post by kyesmith »

Was just wondering what are the point of honor points other than getting your name posted on the statue? Is there going to be any real reward or value to them? Thank :)

They have said that there will be rewards handed out to the top scorers,
but it's a secret as to what the phat lewt actually is. :p

The honor points only have an indirect connection to the rankings on the Stele of Valor.

There are honor points and ranking points.
While you get more honor points for delivering higher quality mats, the amount of ranking points depends only on the number of mats you bring (the same amount for 100 q50 shells and 100 q250 amber/sap)

If I remember right, you will be able to buy 'special rewards' from the factions with your honor points at the end of Ep.2.
Rewards

The Karavan and the Kamis will be rewarding those who help them. When you will accomplish task missions for them, you will be granted honors points, which you will be able to exchange for special rewards at the end of the Episode 2. Four different types of rewards, equipment items specific to each main skill branch (fight, magic, harvest, craft), will be available; additionally, in one of the possible outcomes, there is also an XP reward to be granted.

As far as I know (maybe I am wrong), the statue is what we see with the stele. After episode 2 ends, the top 10 will remain, as now. Honor points seem to be only used to get rewards and maybe later to form a kind of pool for the Global FvF.

As Trini said, it is possible to have lots of honor points and not be in the stele. A specialized harvester that digs q100 shell may be one of the firsts in the ladder, but may have less points that a player that fights/crafts/digs q250.

Honor points wise, a bag full of q250 sap/amber is worth 8? bags of q100 shell.

Are you sure about that? As far as I recall:
100 q50 materials: 200 honor points
100 q100 materials: 400 honor points
100 q150 materials: 800 honor points
100 q200 materials: 1600 honor points
I can't dig q250, but following the pattern it should be 3200 honor points, equal to 8 times the number of q100 shell.

I think the score on the steel is just equal to the total number of materials you've turned in.

my mistake... 100 q250 3200 honp.

Hmm, this makes me wonder, ranking in harvest and craft is indepent of quality level, so do you still get ranking points in Fight from killing people who are too low to give you honor points? Anyone know?

Sorry I can't answer that. If I kill someone defending myself I'm generally lower than the person I killed. So I always get honor points, and some ranking points.

The harvestings ranking, (I don't know about any of the others), is a1 for 1. So 1 mat is worth 1 point on the ranking. So if someone has a score of 3456 then they've foraged 456 mats.

So for foragers at least, your honour point total doesn't come into play, it seems, with your score for ranking.
