I have played now for about four days...and have enjoyed the game in spite of my lonely existence. Ah...there is so much to like about SoR...but I'm not going to pay a monthly subscription for a MSORPG (massive single player online role playing game). So, are there any suggestions as to how I can come in contact with more ppl? Any particular race I should be to be in a more populated area?
I have read so much about the community...but haven't seen any players in-game to know what the community is like. Thanks for responding!! I hope to find reasons to stick it out!!

Re: Hello...? from a noob
Unfortunately a great many people are off fighting in the new lands to build temples. Which has sucked a great deal of the population out of mainland Atys.philteau wrote:I have played now for about four days...and have enjoyed the game in spite of my lonely existence. Which race are you?
You should try and find a guild to get into things more.

The races are pretty evenly split, except for the Zoria.
If you are still on the starter island, you should leave it immediatly and come over to the mainland. (Many of us wish the starter islands would be abolished)
Once in the capital cities, you should see a lot more players around.
Keep in mind that many of us are trying to either defend Atys against the horor of The Souleater, or we are trying to destroy our fellow homin and bring thier souls to Ma-Duk. So, we might not be around the cities as much as we used to be.

I hope you're not still on the starter island. There're no players there because once you leave you can't go back, and we usually recommend new players to leave the island as soon as possible.
Matis and Tryker boast the most popular race, with Fyros being a close second. Zorai is a lonely race.
Hope you have fun on Atys!
edit: too slow! I lose!

Also, What's your in game name? Many people would be happy to look you up and show you around to the populated areas.

Re: Hello...? from a noob
If you're still on the newbie island, get off it asap. Those are very deserted.
While there currently is a big debate going on in the community, it would be a shame if you chose to leave just because of what you read here.
It looks as if flaring tempers are cooling off a bit, so things should get a bit more normal now.
If you're a Tryker, hanging out at the stable near Fairhaven is usually a good place to meet people. I can't really say for the other races, though the big marketplace in Pyr should see people too.
Also there is an RP event in Yrkanis soon, the Fright Night , there some people at least should show up.

Re: Hello...? from a noob
Yes, let us know your in game name, your time zone and the times you are usually on. If you are from Europe feel free to give Arrya a tell on late afternoons (7pm - 10 pm).
Re: Hello...? from a noob
I am presently in Pyr (sp?). I left the noob lands the first day (after about 5 hrs of playing). In the last three days, I have seen three players...three! I can certainly understand the reason why players are off doing other in-game stuff...but it leaves a noob's existence to be a lonely one. Seems like bad dev planning. It will be hard to attract new players...much less keep them. BTW, is everyone high lvl enough to be in the "new lands" (whatever that is)...with the rest of the world soley populated by the occasional noob?
Re: Hello...? from a noob
what Shad said
just to add tho, do a /who in region to see if anyone else is around, region is also a good channel to start conversations in. If im online (which isnt often atm unfortunately) feel free to send me a /tell. If you do decide to join a guild, shop around a bit first as most guilds are recruiting.

Philteau,
in-game try sending a tell to some of the Samsara like Jyudas or Rashan. They are on a lot and might help you, either directly or by pointing you in the right direction.
