About the past, the present and the future. Fry on a soapbox.

Come in, pull up a chair, let's discuss all things Ryzom-related.

For my part, i'm beggining to get a little bored of this new stuff. It's also worrying to see that alot of the good natured attitude during the fights seems to be slipping away and getting a bit more serious. I don't really like the way that some people are only now willing to sell to the same faction either. Also, after stopping and trying to go back to the usual levelling part of the game, I find I just can't get back into it. Don't know if others feel the same. Can't think where to turn from now on.

Awesome post. Certainly hit many a raw nerve with me.

Frydes you have very beautifully and eloquently summed up my own feelings towards Ryzom. I'm sure we're not the only ones who feel this way.

I and many others, judging by the many posts on EP2, love (or loved) this game but feel betrayed by empty promises from Nevrax.

For now, I'll continue to take the knocks and try to enjoy the game.

A great post and crystallised a lot of stuff that had been going round and round in my head and bothering me.

Well said!!!

I believe everything cannot be for everyone. Your content is coming if the current stuff is not for you. Even if this is the case, I am sure you will not be in love with all of that.

My R2 stanza editing trainer obviously will not be for everyone.

Where?

BArely a whiff, barely a hint, of what R2 is really capable of or precisely how it will work, plus the community that would make the most of it is being driven away.

It will have taken an unreasonable amount of insensitivity or wilful ignorance not to have predicted these problems with this Episode. There should have been somethng in it for the 'others' or a concurrent event.

that i think is a very important point. We are ignorant of what's going on with the other servers. It's perfectly possible that Nevrax *are* listening to the majority of their playerbase.

what would be lovely is for some bi-lingual people to give us a round up each week of the news from the other shards =)

Very nice post as all of yours (love your stories as well).

To answer Rushin I paid a long look at French forums and constated the folowing:
- Post count: very few posts and new threads, about half on English speaking forums: example page 2 bottom post is dated 17-10-05, u need go page 4 here to find 17th. That may not say anything about server population tho.
- Very few threads of complaints (that's very strange lol, they seem to have forgotten our "moaner" reputation :) )
- Most recurrent complaint (funny this one) is lack of RP lol i.e. "Guys, please when you killing each others from 50 m apart, you could RP a bit more in region..... rofl"
- Same concerns about progresses of temples, some proposals about events in the event, thread of free merchant = neutral which aggree to sell to all factions
- they seem to go along with it much much more than we do: little thread about unbalanced melee and suggestions but not the frenzie we are having here..

Was actually refreshing :)

And they have.....
the best thread ever imo: the "Why is Jena late thread", 66 pages of silly excuses for Jena :)

The German forum is less vocal, at least at a short glance. The tone is less aggressive, more resigned/disappointed/pained.

Fry, this is definitely one of the best posts on these boards atm...

And it feels good that some more oldies than me will stay to teach the newcomers about the spirit of the community of Atys.

And to those who believe that this game and its community will die due to some exodus of old members.
There are still people here that will stay. People who has been here since the beginning... people who still give a damn.
