Hi i want to be a crafter but before i spend points getting iether my light, medium or heavy armor plans, which works best for dodge armor please, does it make any difference to the dodge effect if the armor is light , medium or heavy ?.
And if it does make a difference, which type of armor is best to make for heavy armour, as in dodge, parry, light type of thing.
Thanks in advance.

Hi and welcome to Ryzom
Heavy armour should ideally have higher parry stats as melee warriors tend to try and parry atacks. Light armour is better with dodge as elementals wear it and your ele lvl gives you your dodge skill. Hope that helps..

Your base dodge and parry values are based on your skill levels. Your armor and equipment contain dodge and parry modifiers that add or subtract to these base values. The dodge and parry modifier on armor is determined by the dodge and parry values of the materials used to craft it.
In my opinion, the bigger determining factors as to what armor to wear are the action penalty and protections of the armor.
In short, light armor has low protection but no action penalty. Heavy armor has high protection and high action penalty. Medium armor is in the middle on both.
Action penalty causes your actions to cost more. For a mage, an action penalty is very bad as it causes the spells to cost more sap/hp/range/time and can be detremental in a fight. As such, mages use light armor usually. This is also true for harvesters and their focus usage.
For a meleer, action penalty is less important as they usually have a healer behind them keeping their hp and stamina up. For them, protection is much more important so they usually wear heavy or medium armor.
