Definitely agreed. I've tried several times to just forget this is an MMORPG and just treat it the Aelius Dunes like a teambased FPS game (which obviously it's trying to be) and participate in the great battle. But it's been nothing but boring and frustrating. I'm below 200 which means I can't even hit the 250s and the only way I can be helpfull is by healing. If I want to play a teambased war, I'll get a game that doesn't require me to grind up to 250 before I can participate. Also, as soon as an AoD targets me I'm dead. There's absolutely nothing I can do to even have a chance to survive. I can't jump out of the way or take cover, every spell fired automaticly hits. I can't hide, compass always shows my location. I can't even use magic protection or run out of the spell's range, by the time it says "AoD X casts an offensive spell on you", the spell is already on it's way to me. Then lastly there's those annoying kinchers. It seems like you have the upperhand in the battle, and then half a dozen of them pop on your healers and leave half your team with DP. Furthermore, they guard every route on the map making it impossible to escape from enemy players or do things like sneak around the enemy army to res your fallen or attack them from behind. Unless you want to drag kinchers on them from behind ofcourse.basicart wrote:Theres much much better PvP games out there and Ryzom needs to find its own place but pvp in Ryzom just dont work cos its lvl 250 nuke first win theres no skill ( as in a class system would provide )
I've played and enjoyed multiple teambased FPS games, but this half FPS half MMORPG minigame is either endless boredom (run at enemy, nuke/heal until dead, run back and repeat at infinitum) or endless frustration (trying to use any kind of strategy and failing miserably). I feel like playing a RTS where I can only control a single unit.
