I thought about that... there are players that enjoy PvP in both sides, but if one side starts winning, how to say this, "too often" the other faction players may start going less and less to the zone, a "snowball" effect.
Within the context and role-play, it makes a lot of sense, one faction managed to convert most homins to their "religion", prevented the other one from constructing a temple, won the war and enjoyed the satisfaction of winning....from a pure gamer experience, one temple may be built at 100%, the other at 12%, one faction players frustrated and the "fun" going bye bye, including for the PvPers.
Let's assume a player goes, to the zone, and he remains in average, 12 minutes there, trying to do his best, again and again. there are trips where he doesn't even manage to rez a friend or to pull once. He has several options
a) No matter how many tries, he'll stop going there. If you don't think so, imagine the hypothetical situation where he's the only one left and there are 10 waiting at 50m of the camp.. go on, brave man!
b) He'll join the opposite faction: "oh, now I can dig. and even kill from time to time"
Some players (I like to include myself here) like a fragile balance. Sometimes we win, sometimes we lose, if I lose too much... let's say simple "I enjoy it less" and if I win too much.... to me it's a bit like staying in Yrkanis gates bombing yubos, and as soon as they spawn again I kill them.
On the contrary, and again, from a RP point of view a perfect valid position, some just enjoy winning, and need to win at all costs. Need to feel they are under complete control of the situation, owners of the battlefield, the strongest survive, which is fine, but... it may happen that there are no more red dots.... well they can always send in a ticket saying "hey!!! the bad guys don't spawn!!"
I know there players on both factions that think like me, even in the most radical supportive guilds. Some are really very skilled PvPers. Some don't. I just hope this won't become a slaughter
most succesful PvP games make at least a token gesture in the direction of 'fairness' and try to balance the numbers on both sides.
Oh, Nevrax does, too.... it sends a guy to the tritonians and says "help the losers"

.. what's next? Mabreka saying "I've talked to Ma'Duk" and he says that the Kami's temple will be more valuable if the Jena temple is not complete, but almost, so I have decided that some on you will fight as if you were fighting for Jena, but actually, don't forget you are helping Ma'duk in the end, because will win...
thinking about it,
