Perfectly nice speech yes. Well formulated, well thought-out and well presented.

But that was about it.

A speech, telling us in so many words to sit down and be quiet and behave. Telling us to actually do what we do not want to do, to engage in PvP, when those present sought an alternative to that. A speech warning us to remain quiet about our beliefs for our own goods, to only talk about our viewpoints to those we know and who probably believe in the theirselves already and not to talk to others, not to spread our message.

When the Karawan and the Kami spoke to their followers, they gave them temple sites, teleporters, access to a new land and they took the leash off on their dogs-of-war to slaughter their fellow homin.

What the believers in the third way, the third faction of Atys, get, is a speech. A perfectly nice speech. Well formulated, well thought-out and well presented. But no help to the crisis I as a Hominist, and I believe many of my fellow Hominists, see myself, ourselves in.

I hereby declare myself to be a Hominist. Ask me about my philosophy.

I survived Patch 1. :) I'm not so sure about Episode 2.

Well its true that one can't do much if two enemies want to fight it out. Even when its in their backyard. Perhaps you'd call someone stronger to seperate them, or perhaps throw rocks at them so that they at least move their fight to the next yard over?

for homins who want freedom and liberty sabatoge offers the best tactic sometimes in these situations (when made available) but helping the loosing side doesn't quite seem right.

Getting all temples built so as many homin as possible can benefit from the knowledge therein, to become stronger to face kitin and even the kami and karavan themselves - that's a goal. That's liberty.

Knowledge is power.
Information is ammunition.

No, not even that... the speech is ridiculous and not very well thought out at all. I feel the pain of all those wishing to be neutral in this war.
thosholm wrote:What they have asked of all of you is only a continuing of their battle amongst themselves and now they want you to shed your blood in their “HOLY” cause. Can you believe that? I certainly cannot!
Well this is all fine and dandy. He seems to care for the wellbeing of homins and is right about that one should not fight for something one does not believe in... but...
thosholm wrote:While the Kami and Karavan remain equal they will fight and kill each other but if one or the other begins to pull ahead of the other in the building of the Temples, then we all run the risk of coming under the domination of the winning faction. What I wish to suggest is that you all band together and join the side that seems to be losing the race, as we all know these constructions are blights upon the face of Atys; so it seems that we must strive to ensure that neither one side nor the other triumphs. I would weaken the winners so much that they will never be able to press their will upon us.
Just like that he asks you to shed your blood anyways... and even worse, to help a God you dont even believe in. If any action should be taken at all by a NEUTRAL side in this war, shouldnt it be either to act as a RedCross sort of institution or (not a very good option) maybe even to attack both sides to make sure these "blights" arent built at all?

I think its more likely that this "messenger" is an undercover agent for one of the factions (the losing one).

Very sad to see this.

Did anybody check this messengers ID, as well as his meks' numberplates?

This cannot be something else then a fake.
Last time he spoke he warned us of Jena's coming and not to fall into the traps of the kami and karavan. And now he tells us to fight for losing side?

Well, my view at this point is to get at least one of both built.
The Kami and Karavan will reveal new knowledge which can only empower the Homin and be shared between those with a lick of sense on both sides making us potentially strong enough to throw off these false gods when the time comes.

Why false? Because they're acting even more strangely than the homin leaders, contradicting themselves and asking you to do actions they normally condemn. Even Tryton seems a bit... iffy...

I think the Karavan have been pretty consistent.

They don't want us to kill other homin, but we must defend ourselves against the death-cult members who try and slaughter our harvesters.

Building things is what the Karavan do, so no worries there.

The Kami are consistent in thier constant deceit.

Sure, they condemn harvesting...unless it is harvesting in order to build a power amplifyer for The Soulstealer. Even in thier supposed concern for Atys, they lie.

The Kami have always delighted in the death of homin-kind. The more separated we are from our flesh, the easier it is for Ma-Duk to feed off our souls. Hence the urging of homins to kill Karavan supporters.

And Tryton...well..does he really have a good track record? What does he actually stand for? He has helped homins in the past, but who hasn't? He has been helped by the Kami in the past...but we can all claim that. Exactly what special power or wisdom does he hold? No one knows, really. So to say he is being inconsistant would mean that he is acting pretty normal.

The civilizaiton leaders...yeah...they are acting a bit strange.

If there was any evidence, whatsoever, for the Karavan's claims about the Kami and Ma-Duk I would be a very concerned individual indeed, but there's nothing at all to go on except hearsay and propaganda.

On the other hand the Karavan tried to assasinate peaceful third parties to try and cover up their plan for a pre-emptive strike against Ma-Duk and the Kami, have whipped up peaceful peoples into a religious frenzy and claim their goddess is bringing a 'celestial army' to Atys.

If I wasn't so cynical about both powers I would be firmly Kami since - thus far - there is no evidence of any Kami wrongdoing. Other than their hypocrisy over the current digging.
