and harvesters can always let their source explode :D
Yes, by all means, kill other people that want to fight and die, leave the others alone. They can't impose on you, you CAN impose on them. Be noble and a good player.

harvesters have no right to be invulnerable or something if fighters aren't invulnerable, and it would be completely weird if enemy factions help each other with creating their temples and stuff...
We're not enemies.
The plotline makes zero sense in the context of the lore or the game so far.
You're all far too eager to kill each other for basically no reason at all, I blame the slow release of content.

COunterstrike makes sense because its a limited scenario and there's no investment in characters or roleplay. An MMORPG, especially like Ryzom, is a very, very different prospect.

Those who don't want to risk their life should not enter a pvp area.

Bzzt WRONG!

Again the myth of consent!

Because one is forced to involve oneself in an aspect of gameplay one does not like does not mean that one consents to it.

I can respect your choice in how to play so long as you do not impose it upon me, please do likewise.

Nobody is forced to do anything.

So long as game 'content' in the form of coded items (and storyline, influence over Atys) linked to PvP, with no alternatives that avoid it, it is NOT consenting to it to simply be in that area.

You're still completely missing the point.

What's the problem? What don't you get?

roninpvp wrote:Killing a harvester by the very action is nothing but ganking. Its actually one of the best examples of ganking possible.

Ganking: "...commonly used when getting attacked when unprepared, (e.g. when low on health, already engaged in battle, etc.)."

Someone with a pick in their hands and in the middle of harvesting actions is not very prepared for battle now are they? :p

I'm only arguing your reference to Ganking. I understand that harvesters entering PvP / FvF Zones are gonna be killed. However, People who take advantage of such unprepared targets are gankers and should accept it.
LoL... well, you killed me when I was in focus gear and diggin, so I guess I label you a Ganker along with everyone else. Shouldn't point fingers at others, sinny, when you're just as guilty.

Consent...
con·sent
intr.v. con·sent·ed, con·sent·ing, con·sents
1. To give assent, as to the proposal of another; agree. See Synonyms at assent.
2. Archaic. To be of the same mind or opinion.

n.
1. Acceptance or approval of what is planned or done by another; acquiescence. See Synonyms at permission.
2. Agreement as to opinion or a course of action: She was chosen by common consent to speak for the group.

Therefore, basically, it means agreed by both parties.

Consensual sex is making love.
Non consensual sex is rape.

The argument from one side of the PvP argument is that by entering a PvP area you are automatically consenting to being ganked, trashtalked and so on.

The argument from the other side is that so long as peaceful or third-way options are not provided and that unique content (of various kinds) is only available through exposure to PvP, with other styles of play not rewarded so much - if at all - then because of that consent is not automatic as participation is, in effect, forced - if you want to participate, maintain a good character and remain a significant part of the game.

This is particularly telling in Ryzom as it seems to be shifting gear suddenly and abruptly from one type of game to another, which is why we have the strong disagreements we do. Having at least two very different game cultures.
