i don't think that's really necessary. :)
for one, you already managed to create such a third faction via roleplay there, like it was announced previously. but furthermore you proved that your server was able to do the same as others and create a zone of truce and prove that your community is actually as good as it's always praised as. :D
p.s.: not to brag, but on leanon there were truces for a few days now, was wondering when you'd start ;)

There have, apparently, been truces during the quieter daylight hours. This wasn't exactly a truce per se.

Dont you think before everyone flew off in a huff that maybe everyone should of just taken a minute and figured out just such a plan as this.

In one day everyone made up their mind and said this is not for me. and many huffed away. I feel they gave the game they say they love a grave injustice. Kind of reminds me of Patch 1.

I think this was a tremendous plan. My applause to the organizors.

Maybe people should of stepped back and thought this out. who knows this is a living world, maybe this was hidden in here to see what we could do. I still have faith in the game.

I have joined in the fray and I try to guard the harvester. The kinchers are the big problem and enough to keep you busy. It is fun for a change of pace. Sorry have to admit it is fun.

Once again good job all.

If it had been intended or anticipated - and I don't really see how it could have been overlooked - then there would have been 'mechanical' support for the neutral/hominist/peacenik stance.

So protecting diggers and their spots seems to be far more important to us than a few personal honour points for killing someone. Now that the intial excitement is dying down this is shaping up to be something good I think. And all this has taken place in just 3 days. Imagine 1 or 2 weeks from now. So all you doubters and unsubscribers, just stop right there, and WATCH.

Kodel.

Can't agree more. This is what I've been expecting all along. Maybe not a full "cease of fire" or a "Neutral Faction" running 24/7, but guilds joining other guilds and actually working as a team to protect their harvesters... People actually using this new event to it's full extent... Specially now that the temples are starting to "move", and the Desert Restriction has been removed.

It's too bad that we can't create private chat channels, that sure would help organizing multiple guilds! Kind of hard working out tactics when every one around you can see what you're saying... Even your enemies :) ... In fact I'm going to open a ticket next time I'm online with that sugestion.

Anticipated? Yes. Intended? No, it was never the intention to allow the existance of a Neutral Faction per se.

The mechanics for a Neutral Faction are there however, the only problem is that they involve homins staying away from the "main event" itself.

The way I see it they're just moving the story line ahead, it's just sad that they're not including a neutral wing... Not like they can't implement something like that! It actually fits the lore:

For what I understand, for many years (Before the Kitin Invasion) Jena was the goddess of Atys... Then Ma-Duk shows up and reveals that he is the Life Giver, Creator of Atys. Convincing the homids of that took time, of course, after all there were a lot of false prophets all over the place after the Kitin Invasion... Prove of that is the fact that half the homins follow Jena and half of them follows Ma-Duk...

I'm sure there is a whole bunch of atheist or agnostic homins running around... After all, has anyone actually seen Jena or Ma-Duk? And even if they have, this is a planet of magic and powerful technology... How do they know if their gods are nothing more then beings with very power magic or advanced technology? Think DC's Thanos with the Infinite Gauntlet, or Stargate's Goa'ulds... Hell! Even homins who follow one of the gods but wants peace among homins would join a neutral party.

OOC:
It was good to see that many people were willing to work together. Unfortunately it can never last for long due to opposition. There are many many players who do not like that others don't want to fight, don't care if the other faction builds a temple, don't want to kill their friends, etc. There are a host of reasons for everyone who was there last night, but unfortunately it isn't enough to hold off those who want to fight and kill instead of working together.

It does make me laugh though to know that the PVPers had to work together in order to take us all down.

Which is even more amusing considering the fact that the diggers, healers and protection could not heal if the faction was different.

I couldnt make it, had to choose between RL and IG and RL won the bid. Had a great night and didnt really had the urge to log in when I came home.
Yes, I wish I could have been there, to show my support, to heal, to dig, to defend.

The stories here and elsewhere on the board make me realize that if the third faction was allowed, if there really was the option to form that third group, that group would have been rather invinceble.

So please, next time "the Majority", "many others", "a lot of people" is used as an argument, realize what size that third group actually is. Realize how many homins, how many paying players prefer the third way. (and I hope the management is reading this if they didnt know alread).

Whatever Tryton is going to tell us, it better be good!

Jyudas of the Fyros,

Not all of us consider themselves Hominists, I do not. I don't wish to see the Kami temple being built, if I can help it. I am not neutral on the matter.

But if the alternative is that Jena's temple isn't built either, but instead we fight over the materials in this Kitin-infested desert, then a joint effort was worth it. As Jena returns, undeniable truth will be revealed to the blinded Kami-devotees and Hominists without faith. I can promise you that.

Building the Kami-temple might even be good, we can always use it as a stable when the empire is restored. So, see it as a pragmatic action from some of us rather than a protest.

It was fun and we lived longer than expected. Good idea Mach!

I salute the PVP'ers that played along, that made my day. I'm not against your fun, just Nevrax stupified version of PVP. I'm expecting better from a company that intends to satisfy "players" and "roleplayers" in the same game.

Well done all!

IC:
Ulani, I am no Hominist. I could care less if the Karavan build temples, jsut as long as they are not in my home lands. I do not wish to fight my friends over something so petty as materials to build a building. Faith is faith, whether you have a temple or not.

Give me a good reason to fight and I will. But these reasons are not good. That is why I was there last night. I have no reason to fight.
