If a big enough group of mixed faction would work together in the zone and followed a few simple rules they WILL be abe to accomplish something J, come, see and helpout. We can make this work...

It was said something about different tasks for the neutrals. Ok, i do undertsand that they can not pull something out of the hat. But i could think about a task i can do outside the old lands. Dig some mission mats in PvE areas which a toon out of Atys harlequins will reward me someday with similar iterms the killers get.

Or am i to easy on that ?

The idea came from the guild as a whole, I am merely the one making the post. One of the rare occasions a post is made with the consent of Evolution by a member of Evolution.
The idea could only grow because of the wide support from the ones we contacted yesterday. These people know who I mean.

I intend to, but I don't hold out a great deal of hope for it, that's all. I think you'll just become a target for both sides and with one half unable to do anything at all to help in battles other than to confuse things I think you're doomed.

The side not being attacked could drag aggro on to deal with their own 'faction' that are attacking I suppose, but that's unsportsmanlike. Otherwise they could spam the opposing team with tells to confuse them...

That's all metagaming though :/

I'm not gonna talk strategy here, but I think I've found a way to adress atleast some of your concerns. In the mean time think about this in a large group of mixed faction how would you select your targets seeing how there will be some of your own faction who are not on your side!

I am not going to enter this place. I will probably be in Faihaven to hear what the neutrals have to say. Or maybe i will just read it on the forum. If there is no major twist it looks like i need to use the passwort for the online-account i finally found after searching for days :)

I kind of agree with your sentiment here, but how else are these folks supposed to get their points across? Unsubscribing until things change actually is a pretty good option. It quickly lets the company know how their changes are being received and the direction they should take next. It also saves the disgruntled players money they can instead spend on a game they do enjoy.

I've seen a few "I'm back" posts too, so obviously some folks have been waiting for the current set of changes. Maybe the folks rejoining, newly joining, and staying outnumber those that leave. It may just be a net gain for Nevrax, in which case they will keep on this path. I don't think they know right now, and so can't make any promises in that regard. But, in the near term, I can't see how they can change direction -- development cycles are too long. They can't instantly invent new non-pvp-content. They can't just delete all the pvp-content without explaining to their money-men why they just flushed all those dev-costs away.

I think we all must understand that Nevrax's goal is to make money. For them, that means they need all the subscriptions they can get. If PvP is what gets them subscriptions, to heck with the story. You can fit most anything into a story with a bit of creativity. People griping on the forums doesn't necessarily equate to lost subscriptions. It's annoying sure, but if it doesn't cost Nevrax money, why should they change?

If folks really want the things they talk about, which is essentially a democratic MMOG, they're going to have to make it themselves. I don't think any of us have the resources to acheive such a feat.

So... enjoy or move on, I'd say.

Would we take polls and do things differently than before? Would we even bother to comment here?

For that matter, our event team makes adjustments on the fly, during events, depending on the will of the players. For example, an event trigger set to go off Sunday was cancelled by the EM because the players wanted to take the event in a different direction, one that required the EMs to be flexible and go with it. It also required us, on Monday, to do some furious work behind the scenes to take that on-the-fly change into account going forward. I don't know how that could be any more responsive to the wishes of the players, or allow the players to have more control, than to allow them to dictate how a scenario proceeds to a result and change the whole nature of EP2 as a result.
...
However, we don't 'steamroller' the plot, nor do we turn a deaf ear to players.
Thank you Jessica for taking the time to comment on what is a very hot topic. I had the pleasure of meeting you at the IRL Gathering and talked with you briefly. I can't imagine the roller-coaster that you and your team is going through, emotionally and professionally. No one likes their creations attacked. Emotions on all sides are running high.

I can only assume you are referring to the Trykers voting to allow a Kami temple to be built on their land unopposed as the moment the EM decided to cancel the Sunday trigger. I can't think of anything other moment where we were given a sigificant choice (not counting the forums).

The uproar from the not-so-silent minority (or majority - take your pick, you know the server vs forum population better than I do) came from logging in and decovering something new, that unless they abandoned their RP stance or anti-PvP stance or anti-war stance, they couldn't participate in. While those who finally been given a reason to PvP other than fighting over tempermental and limited mats in an isolated zone and a gladiator ladder were off having fun the rest were wondering what is fun for us to do?? The first major story event in a while and they are excluded. The ones that live for the story! Sorry, no content for you! That's what it seems like be it true or not.

I won't sit here and tell you I know a thing or two about game design. I don't. I didn't design the car I'm driving but they let me drive it anyway. I do pretty okay as long as the rules don't change and those around me follow those rules. It's not as much fun to drive as it was when I didn't have anywhere to go and a full tank to get there. And my insurance company frowns on me driving aggressively. DP be damned!!

Maybe I RP'd myself out of the story. I hope that I haven't, I had a pretty good thing going there. I once said Ryzom teaches you patience. Don't like something? Wait until the next patch. I guess I have to wait for those special instructions Xavier mentioned. Or wait until the next patch.

Hope you are having fun,
