I'm sorry for the new thread guys, but I was feeling like creating it since the Ryzom is not moving in the direction that me and many of my friends have been expecting it to move.

Ryzom has always been known for its community. Turning the game into PvP kill fest has been a very bad idea. I've been playing this game on and off for a year now, and the thing that fascinated me in ryzom was the SAGA bit. Yes, I understand SAGA being a tale, a series of events unfolded and influenced by players. This means that competition between karawan and kami should take form of competing events (for example elimination of kitin threat), not just introducing mindless pvp. From the developing perspective I understand that plugging in PvP, honor points counter is easy as opposed to organization of real, Saga-like events, but this approach is wrong for this game.

I do hope that developers are reading these threads and that they are listening to their players, if there was a time to do that NOW IS THE TIME.

Software development continues to be an extremely imperfect art.

Gaping chasms typically exist between philosophical intent, application design and execution - ie. development & testing - in most software development groups and it would appear that Nevrax is no exception

Oh – and did I forget - having the requirement to satisfy a hugely diverse game playing population - and their intrinsic emotional and entertainment must pose a continual ongoing challenge.

My 2c. Bit of screw up on the execution piece, which I am inclined to put down to trying to do too much. BUT certainly not worth throwing ya toys too far out of the cot AND leaving.

Let me start this with my usual disclaimer: PvP is evil...

With that out of the way there are 4 things we can't ignore:

- This game has always been a PvE and PvP game. Saying that the game is being turn into PvP all of the sudden shows just a little bit of ignorance when it comes to the game's history. Here an interview done more then 2 years ago...
- It looks like the whole "Outpost" thing is going to be nothing but an advanced form of PvE, or at least that's what I reckon from this article... Finally some use for all those dappers that people don't know what do to with.
- R2 is comming.
- And this probably the must important point of them all!
