Am I missing the point??

Come in, pull up a chair, let's discuss all things Ryzom-related.

I remember hearing these exact same words repeated like a mantra for Patch 1. That worked wonders too to just go ahead and go with it.

and the defenders seem to be the ones least concerned with whether Ryzom actually survives or not and whether the player base grows. This type of fighting alone is simply not good for Ryzom.

You were one of the ones that left the game for awhile. Those of us that stuck around waiting for these things surely don't want to hear from you !

What honour can be archieved in killing a homin that is in a game sense still a baby?

Ah! But you see, you're not describing honor here. You're discribing game balance!

The thing is that if I'm a level 250 and I see a level 1 wondering around the new zone I'm going to nuke the hell out of the poor guy!... After all what is a level 1 running around a level 100+ area all by himself? He can't hunt or dig anything...
Not to mention the fact that his dead is going to help me and the faction I belong to... That and that he isn't getting any DP anyways, just the trouble of having to TP back to the zone if he feels like comming back to the area.

Like I mentioned before, I don't PvP but I went to the area a few times to explore and show a couple of new players around; and every single time I was a victim of the nasty AoEs going on... Did I get upset? No! Why should I? I knew the risk... So did my companions... In fact we were having a good time dodging the AoEs and the Mobs.

Now... If we're talking about balance... The yes! There should be a mechanism that makes everybody con even level (A la City of Heroes)... Or not have a single arena, but different one according to level (A la Guild Wars)

Edit: Few typos corrected.

Yes, there is. Anything a human/homid/person does has honor, moral and culture.

Fairness, justification, need to be... Those are the thing that a war lacks.

This sounds so wrong on so many levels.
You take pride and pleasure in slaughtering something that can' t hurt you and thus means no risk to you at all and you know it, because it just decided to come in? How would this ever help you or your faction here, when it wouldn' t even be able to contribute in any way to it' s own, other than the delussional lies you tell to yourself because you need to boost your own self-confidence?

The faction you work for must be handing out medals by the thousands to your cafeteria staff for killing butterflies that decided to rest on the windowporch.

Ah! The power of extracting a small part of a text and blowing it up way out of proportion! You don't happen to have a picture of me walking along the beach holding hands with Angelina Jolie that you want to share with the rest of the community, do you?

Maybe you want me to make it easier for you:

- I don't PvP, PvP is evil.
- I don't have anything against people who likes PvP.
- I've been at the new zone, yes... But exploring only, after all I think PvP is evil.
- I like the new content because my Guild and friends are enjoying it... For them that is good content... And PvP content is better then no content at all.
- I've been killed at the new zone because of indirect AoEs or direct atacks towards me made by other homins or Kitins... That didn't upset me at all.
- There is a huge difference between honor and game balance. There is no dishonor in killing a homid that is 249 levels lowers then you during a war... There is however an imbalance when something like that is allowed to happen.
- Killing other homins helps your faction (Kami or Karaban), because the higher your Honor Points the better your faction looks.
- If you enter a PvP zone, you do so at your own risk.
- There is no pride or pleasure in killing, but there is pride and pleasure in faction's triumph.

Or perhaps you just want me to find a nice bridge with a never-ending supply of goats?

I actually read and understood the word 'IF' at the start of your example. My reply was therefor totally based on that very fictional part but that doesn' t make it sound less wrong.

You can not have pride and honour on accomplishing something that doesn' t demand your very best efforts or over something that isn' t there.

So, according to that I should feel ashamed for what I do for a living? After all it comes very easy to me, it takes no effort whatsoever... Hell! Sometimes I just sit there all day long doing nothing... And yet I feel good about it. Why? Because it feeds me, pays the mortgage, insurance, clothing, etc. etc. etc...

This is not a matter of pride or honor. Pride and honor are subjective! We measure those according to our cultural and moral background... This is a matter of game balance... Is not a matter of "Is it wrong for a lvl 250 to one shoot a lvl 1?", it's a matter of "Why is it posible for a lvl 250 to do so?"

That's why I mentioned before that I die a little bit inside everytime I read a post around here talking about how dishonorable is this and that :)

Ok...so how about if once you "elect" to go thru the portal to the new lands:

1. You can no longer access PR
2. You can not loot any mainland Atys boss
3. You can not weild any "unique" items obtained during mainland events.

Your analogy is better akin to a restaurant saying I can eat my meal in the non smoking room and order off the lunch menu but if I would like glass of wine with my meal or wish to eat off the dinner menu, I can only get those by going into the smoking area.

Everyone here pays there subs. EVERYONE here has a voice.

You should not shut down someone's voice just because YOU don't agree.
