Decided to give ryzom a try

Hey There!

Ryzom is already big fun in it's current state... however it's right content is important and kinda lacking at the moment. that should not be a big problem tho because exploring the world, grouping and discovering all the little secrets on atys will keep you busy for quite some time.

content like quests and more is in the works and will be available with the next patches. one was announced to go live within 1 - 2 weeks which should be... well... should be this week. no informations on that tho... next one will follow like one month after that.

You will get more out of it if you get in with a guild of like minded people, You will have alot of fun if the mix is right, Crafter, Warrior, Mage can all help out each other with their complimentyr skills.

I play on the US Perci server in DAoC and for me, Ryzom is a breath of fresh air. Not as much downtime and I can keep myself busy in between fights by crafting or harvesting. It's great! Even the ingame guides are making the atmosphere fun and exciting. (on the European shard) Setting us riddles and talks of a mysterious shaman.
I was a beta tester and I must say for once it's nice that when a gaming company says there will be more content at release that they really mean it.

Hmmm. Well, I didn't buy this game to play the tutorial, but you are right, it is pretty weak.

It is interesting though, I have found the poeple ingame to be nothing but helpful. Perhaps if you approach them seeking help and guidance rather than with the attitude you display here you would have a better time of things.

Also, if you have the game and you wish to seek help from other players on this forum, it is recommended that you login and post under your registered name.

You people are joking right? This pile of **** is a joke. I have never played any game where the tutorial sucked as bad! I have no idea what to do, my questions in game go unanswered, I get killed by stupid little animals all the time even though I am tougher than them. I cannot use the compass correctly it does not show me where my mission waypoints are! If you find this game impressive then I hope you never get a cardboard box for xmas, you'll be in heaven.

No need to be insulting just because you can't be bothered to read up and find out for yourself how things work and what to do. No need for it at all.
Try asking people around you for help with armour and weapons. Learn how to do stanzas. There is an ingame help that explains everything and this is what I used to learn and feel my way.
Do those things and you will realise just how good it can be.
