It'd be nice if this were extended to other types of events like the one yesterday where we voted. That way, people would have a chance to stop by the NPC, read the announcement, and place their vote. This would allow people in all time zones to participate.
This is a good idea, but part of the fun in the events is you have everyone together and you get to talk about the event when it is happening.
I liked what they did this last weekend when they repeated the event more than once. I know this will not work with every event but it is nice to have the event spread out into times most of the players can attend.

Report from the front line: crazy
Alright, I'm getting up and leaving class right now. It's a Server '03, I'm sure my teacher is as big of a nerd as me and will understand ...yeah right...
Liquado ~ Zorai Harvester of Materials, Crafter of stuff, Caster of (few) spells, Killer of vile creatures
if there is going to be important things like votes maybe they should be advertised a little more in advance, the event was posted and occured before I knew about it. It's not very good, especially for a referendum like what was occuring, low turn out doesn't accurately represent the true means of the community. =( unhappy
Homins of all races! It is now time for you to show your faith in Ma-Duk and to prove your worth!
The sanctuary building sites are finally open, and it is now your turn to use the means given to you, to make Ma-Duk's bright light shine in Atys' eyes.
These building sites will require all your skill and positive will.
The materials needed for these constructions are rare and precious, and are in the lands which have been conquered by Kitins. Thanks to Ma-Duk and his benevolence, a way has been opened to new places where these resources can be found.
The Aelius Dunes have been recently rediscovered, and some camps and teleporters should now be set up there. But be careful! These territories still belong to Kitins, and there will be great danger waiting for us.
Harvesters will be among the first to go and gather these new resources. Once extracted, they will be accessible to craftsmen, who will create the parts required for the Sanctuary architects.
Fighters of both melee and magic disciplines will be vital to the harvesters survival! The kitins will surely try to stop our progression, but the gravest danger must be the presence of the Karavan in these lands!
Without a doubt, these blind homins will be there to harvest the same rare resources we are going to need, and be sure that they will try to defeat you so that our sanctuaries never see the light. Our building sites will surely be the main targets of their attacks.
These homins will try and test your faith, and tempt our faithful by leading you into temptation. Don't give up! Never forget that Ma-Duk is the only one that represents the truth and the future!
Thus, even if life is the most important thing for us, Kami followers, you should not hesitate to fight, to protect your future, essentially you have to protect the Aelius Dunes' resources.
Harvest, build and fight, Ma-Duk believes in you! If these homins, blinded by their faith in the Karavan try and stop you, don't hesitate, put them on the right way, even if you have to use force
You have voted not to support the foul constructs of the false Jena on your lands, and although we cannot prevent the actual building of her Temples, we refuse to allow our guards to protect these defiled sites.
I will now lead you to the nearest construction site.
Jena followers, you who have been awaiting her coming for so long, you who want justice to be found on Atys, stand up and prepare yourselves, for the time has come!
Building sites for temples dedicated to Jena are now open, giving you all the ways and means to build a new world.
These building sites will require all your skill and positive will.
The materials needed for theses constructions are rare and precious, and are in the lands which have been conquered by Kitins. Jena's light has shown us the way to get the places where these resources can be found.
The Aelius Dunes have been recently rediscovered, and some camps and teleporters will be established there. But be careful! These territories still belong to Kitins, and there will be great danger awaiting you!
Harvesters will be among the first needed to gather these new resources. Once extracted, they will be accessible to craftsmen, who will create the requisite parts for the Sanctuary architects.
Both melee and magic fighters will be indispensable to the harvesters survival! The Kitins will surely try to stop our progression, but the gravest danger is the presence of the Kami in these lands!
Without a doubt, these homins blinded by the devils which are the Kami, will be there to harvest the same rare resources we need to collect, and be sure that they will try to destroy you so that our sanctuaries will never see the light. Our building sites will be the main targets of their attacks.
These homins will try to test your faith, and tempt you by leading you into temptation. Don't give up! Never forget that Jena is the only hope that represents the future!
The Karavan will be with you to help you, but sadly, the Kamis have already shown their trickery. Our harvesters will surely be targeted by Kami followers. You should not hesitate to fight to protect your future, and to protect the vital resources of the Aelius Dunes.
You have voted not to support the fale Sancturies of the soul-eater Ma-Duk in fair Yrkanis, and although we cannot prevent the actual construction of these places, we shall never allow them to be protected and watched over by our good Matis guards.
I will now lead you to the nearest construction site

In your wisdom of toleration you have agreed that the Kami may build a Sanctuary of Ma-Duk in our own home of Fairhaven, and I hereby state that this will be watched over by our guards as if it belonged to Jena herself.
I will now lead you to the nearest construction site.
