Should we know ingame IDs of CSRs, GMs etc?

Post by alyssah »

When I read responses to threads I keep wondering why some people give the obviously biased opinions that appear. I'm beginning to wonder if some of our co-players are actually spouting a Nevrax line because they have a vested interest.

Do you think that players should declare whether or not they are part of the Nevrax team when answering threads in the forum?

Ps. Be aware that your answer may well be a clue.

Yeah, that. Just because they work for Nevrax doesn't mean they shouldn't be able to play the game just the same as anybody else.
But as Dan said.. They shouldn't be posting for Nevrax or abusing their abilities while being a player.

It is possible, difficult to comprehend I know, that some people actually play the game and enjoy it, thereby holding different opinions to you.

Just a thought...

There are many different opinions to mine. Yours nearly always being one of them. However, I consider you to just write to be controversial rather than a Nevrax lackey. Keep up the good work.

The opinions I am looking at are when Nevrax gets praised for what is obviously a cock up but some try to turn it into a 'new approach that deserves praise' or some such garbage. Your writings show an intelligence, I'm sure you have pondered the credibility of some such comments.

Yes, I very much believe it should be a required portion of their signature that they are a guide/senior guide/CSR, whatever. Which one they are does not seem necessary. Although, to control help control idiocy, it should likely result in sanctions if a non-guide type claims such a position in their sig.

Transparent governance always works best, as it is the only sort that people can or should trust. The guides and such are lower members of that governing body, which functions much the way a democracy does, as in, the people are in charge, the "leaders" are high ranking servants. Otherwise, we wouldn't have to pay their salaries.

Without transparency, you lose the trust of the populace.

Having, for example, the local zoning commision members be annonymous makes as much sense as not disclosing the specific punishment for an infraction.

What is the problem? People have a different opinion that some other people.

Lets all just agree to disagree. I have a feeling some people just like to argue. That time between 9am and 5pm can be lonely. The brain does wierd things.

Information who anyone is, is personal and does not consern others. If anyone here or in game wanna tell anyting about them self, it's they own business. Everyone who writes here or are playing inside the game, have active account. That should be enough.

If people have different opinions, then respect they freedom to have different opinions. If You can't understand they opinions, the problem is not them, but You self.

Ok. In light of the early responses I can be swayed to agree that their anonimity should be retained. But get this: If there are a couple of dozen staff on this server (each one will be a regular poster) then the true, unbiased voice of the gameplayer becomes very diluted.

As a compromise, couldn't Nevrax staff post totally anonimously? That way we know these are staff comments but don't know the ingame ID. Then we might learn the true thoughts of the neutral ingame community. I am supposing you do want that neutral info.
