not sure about smart kincher, but the patrols have some nasty abilites. lets just say they are aware of you well outside their aggro range

The concept is.. the reward should be relevant to the effort involved.
so if herbies are more difficult to kill down there, they -as well as the aggro- should be worth more than their weaker surface counterparts. I dont think anyone is totally happy with the xp system, getting a couple of xp points off something that nearly killed me, adn having to sit around for ten minutes while my health and auras come back so I can do it again.. or having to find someone else interested in hunting, and of a compatible level, at times when almost all europeans and americans are in bed.

but back to the point.
If the game contains stuff that isnt worth doing... and hunting mobs in the PR definitely isnt worth doing, then it makes the game look bad and generates negative attitudes towards it. If the mobs in the PR are purely there to make harvesters miserable, you might as well remove the non-aggro ones and save the system resources.

Kinchers owns. definitely :) Prolly the most fearsome sound of the game is the "hiss" noise who shout a kincher who saw an innocent traveler/digger.

off topic in my own thread lol

kinchers in PR do seem that extra bit smarter

I was digging once at least 100mtrs from 3 kinchers and keeping a VERY close eye on them knowing from experience they move about alot and fast also noting the herbivores that drag them closer. As soon as the spot popped supreme and I knelt down to grab some 2 of the kincher ran clean at me and killed me, no herbs dragging them, no reason for it (migration could be an unlikely explanation)

its happened a few times to me tbh

and yes kinchers are the most fearsome thing on atys, closely followed by vorax who are "avoidable" due to the fact their not so invisible and dont have amazing teleport abilities that kincher have. anyone ever noticed kinchers hit you well before they actually appear next to you
