Well something fishy was going on a material spot so I reported it.

The spot was showing up as Supreme at that exact moment from my tracking. So I do a prospect and nothing. I do another prospect and only choice popping up. So I do a supreme only prospect and nothing again. Did I miss the window? Tracking again and supreme is still up.

So either the mesages I'm getting are wrong and its out of season or its in season but not popping? Couldnt figure it out. Submit a ticket that there is something strange happening on this node.

CSR informs me that tracking only finds where a mat should be and the case of supreme or excellent mats that they may not be there in season.

This is all before the CSR even asks me how my tracking is setup...

My tracking is :

Accelerated prospecting
Only Supreme Materials
Underground specializing
Deposit Tracking 500 Meters
Material Specilizaing - Major Seed - Any Material from group.

Any prime roots harvester will read that and tell you it will only give me tracking information if supreme is up and in season obviously.

Using that tracking between prospects repeatedly it was telling me supreme seeds were within 5 meters but not coming up.

I was using 360degree Range 3 and moving around repetaedly and nothing..nada.

CSR informs me again that Tracking doesnt tell you if something is there, just that it should be. If its out of season it will still track it.

I said no trying to explain how I track then prospect for supremes.

CSR informs me again tracking can find sources that are out of season.

I again repeat myself that i'm using a supreme only track and that it will not track at all if the supreme is not up.

CSR tells me they are a forager and they know what they are doing and repeats that tracking will find somthing out of season.

So finally i marked it on my map as possibly buggy spot and stopped trying to explain myself to this CSR....

With the supreme only prospect, what message were you getting?
I've noticed lately that empty nodes often give 'no raw materials detected' instead of the 'source is empty for a while' message

The way I understand it, when you start to track a material it must be the right weather (this is for excellent materials in the desert) although if the weather/conditions change while tracking, the tracking doesn't cancel. So if you take long enough or have bad timing you could track something that won't be there when you arrive.

I have received messages about weather conditions, not at the moment, not in this season when tracking. I have also tracked even choice mats in the PR and desert and the mats spot not been where I tracked it to.

Sometimes when PR mats are exhausted I don't get that message, but instead the 'no mats found in this area' one which is incorrect.

There are also hidden weather types. It's all a bit random and hopefully will get sorted one day. I think even some of the Q&A answers disagree with findings ingame so something is buggy and it's likely the guides have the official line.

Its always beent he case you can verify the supreme/ex was depleted by doing a supreme or ex only prospect. The you'll get the depleted message (Some raw materials used to be present here, but they place seems depleted).

Rashan your right if you read carefully you'll notice I tracked several times before and after prospects to make sure I just didnt have bad timing.
I was upset how the CSR repeatedly tried to convice me that you could track something out of season I would love to be able to map out all the ex spots in the various lands at one time without having to repeat it for every season eh

Its still works for me. I just finished digging all the ex resin from a spot and i got the depleted message thats how i was able to write it down so accurately.

Someone with 5 posts and no sig telling Sinful, the digmeister, that he is wrong made my day. Thanks for your input, I am sure he will stop asking now that he has this info.

There does seem to be some oddities I have not seen before while we been doing the guild runs on the Ex mats in Matis... I haven't seen a pattern I can yet put a finger on. Rashan is probably close since it seems some windows got even more finicky then in the past.

I can verify this is the case.

I've used an identical prospect to someone else at the same spot, and they got the empty message while I got the no raw materials messsage.

Of course, other times I do get the empty message as I should, so it is random whether it works or not. I just expect the "no raw materials" to mean "empty" if I know they should be there....
