While I think most people who have been around a while and have decent healing levels already are finding ways to adapt to the changes and why not? They have options, they have stanza's, they have experience to draw from. Maybe we can't duo Dai-Den anymore but I don't think it was ever meant for us to be able to in the first place.

That being said, I think it's turning out to have a pretty negative effect on newer players. They don't have many options, they don't have many stanza's and they don't have much experience to draw from. In a game where solo-ability is already very low, these changes put people (especially new players) in a position where they need to form larger groups in order to hunt in a game that already has a very small population. Games are meant to be fun, not frustrating. Players that become frustrated from the outset don't last long.

I think the change would have been better if it were scaled. Meaning...at low levels healing would remain the same as it was previously (200% of current), but at each upgrade that % would be reduced until at a certain level, say 150 or so, it were just as it is now (100% of current). Thats my two dappers worth anyways.

i have a low level alt. (lv19 magic, lv28 melee). When i use her i find things much easier than pre-patch. with melee i can solo kipee's all evening; previously i would have to stop after 2-3 as was almost dead, but my armor (choice mats only as i'm still on the island) offers fantastic protection compared to what it did before. And my shiny axe makes short work of them.. with a q20 axe i now do 205dmg instead of 157 before.

before the patch my healing was terrible, after it's worse. but at the risk of sending everyone to sleep repeating an often made point it's actually more effective to heal in a team now - even though i heal for less hp i am able to play the role of healer more effectively. The tank can take the hits so doesnt need so much hp healed, they use stam credits which are much easier to top up.

I'm not being argumentative or engaging in fanboy ranting but i fail to see how the game at low levels is more difficult now. i think it's not new players that have a problem but old ones who are set in their ways, stick their head in the sand and refuse to even try new ways of doing things.

As a newer player and a very low level healer, I disagree with this completely. Since I am not used to the previous level of healing, I simply learn to use the stanzas that I have as effectively as possible - and this has proven to be quite adequate as those I have healed for post-patch will attest.

/rantmode on

weeell, i thinks it´s a little harder now for small teams, but (and a BIG but) its more fun now ;)
and the new armor resitances really does help in keeping the melees alive too,

yes it´s more fun, as i could solo a team of 5 homins lvl 200+ as healer at lvl 101 up...
now you´ll need two healers(and sometimes the nukers should heal too)...
the old heal wasn´t a challenge anymore.

the hard part is if u have to team up with ppl still stanzaing the old way... with max HP credits and low Sap ones,
had teamed yesterday with a healer seamingly doing that, i had more trouble keeping this one up then the fighters ;) ,
hell i had to hurl 2 HP-heals in his directions befor i had to throw 1 for the fighters lol

but what could be done for the lower lvl healers(and nukers too) is,
well the time/range stanzas are a bit low creditwise at lower lvls and there they could do some good.

raise the time/rangecredit a bit to:
  • see them more used
  • to put the lower lvls off of useing ther max HP/Sap credits
also i think that time/range is of more importance then HP or Sap, as i can regenerate this two but
i never get those 2-3 seconds back or the 15-20m i had to trade for some measly 10-40 credits they gave in a spell costing 100-200 credit whole.

/rantmode off

just my two dappers, sorry for the rant ;)

Uhm, and exactly HOW should new players, ones that come aboard Post-Patch, know that everything was "oh so much better" pre-Patch? I mean appart from these rants? ;)
I think they´ll just use what´s there, as we all did when we took our first stumbling steps on Newbee Isle. So what´s your point exactly?

Players that don´t have THAT high a heal and weren´t able to rezz someone with just a fingersnap in the first place, will miss not THAT much, eh?

And, well as was said on other posts allready, Tanks can take much more dmg now. And not everone wants to be Solo-King or Queen, y´know?
Ah, well... Some people wonder by mistake.. ;)

it's just peeps like me that used to heal very well at mid level, and now heal like they did at level 30

Yoe are absolutely correct.

Homins need to realize that they are weak, and will always be weak. Just because you spent a year or so of hard work to acheive maximum fighting/magic level doesn't mean you should be able to expect to defeat a creature equal to you (or even less) in power! That is just silly! Even if you have gone to the massive expense (in time, danger and dappers) to outfit yourself with Supreme equipment, you have no right to believe that you should be able to solo a creature that renders fine mats. That is foolish.

People need to learn that homins are at the bottom of the ladder, and will always be, regardless of any investiture of time, sacrifice, or intellect.

If you want a fair playing field, if you want to be able to solo a creature equal or closely lower to your level past level 50 and not a plant, do what so many others are doing, and go play any other game.

Now...where did I put that bottle of lube?

Hmm, well all I can say to this is "what a croque of ****"!
I can't be bothered to enter the levels/balance debate but I would say that telling people to like it or p*** off is not the response you should be giving. We should be encouraging people to play this game and offer constructive comments.

As for the lube, is this so you can get your head outa your butt?
