This is just for starter right? You will make improvements that will eventually make it look more like what was initially announced?

Exactly my point. Many many guilds will never know what it's like hold an outpost until a lot more are activated in game. (If Nevrax even ever finds that "necessary" ) Whether that be because they are too small to have any chance of competing, or simply choose not to fight other players. Both groups deserve better.

It's a sad case of "content" linked directly to PVP in a level system that slams the door in the face of the little guy.

Better tell all the newbies now, if you want to play with outposts, join an uber-guild. :rolleyes:

You are right, of course, Serhaci.

With this artifical limit on the number of outposts, it seems apparrant that Nevrax really *wants* us to fight among ourselves. Distracting us away from the lack of meaningful content by giving us vapid PvP.

ONLY the most uber 28 guilds will be able to have outposts. For those that don't want to participate in PvP, this is more content that we will not have access to.

Of course, since everyone will want to play the whole game, new players will join the uber-28, thereby solidifying thier hold on the server.

These are not new or revolutionary thoughts. It has happened in every PvP game since the begining. Ms. Mulligan has written extensivly on the subject, and it troubles me that she is either being ignored, or not practising what she preaches.

What other ? Ambushing players of the other faction in FvF areas to collect honor points ?


But it looks different about the 28 uber guilds. It is mentioned that outposts (their gurads) are the level of their area. This makes me wonder.

For a uber guild a lvl50 outpost seems to be no challange at all. So it is more likely that the top 10 uber guilds will battle for the 5 top outposts in lvl 250 areas. The lower guilds will fight for the lower outposts in the lvl 200 regions. And son, you and me will fight about the outpost behind Fairhaven ;)

Lets make a deal: the next 28 outposts will have nothing to do with PvP but will instead be obtained through craft missions. They'll be, lets see trading outposts with merchants and a bar that sells player crafted foods and drinks, maybe even some restorative potions....

The next 28 will be, hmmm I dunno, diplomatic outposts obtained through guild missions. Those be be safe zones that will permit NO PvP and have a nice hall for peace talks to which the owners of the outpost can grant access...

The next 28,.... farms where guilds can grow crops that can be used for crafting?

And the next 28.....

An alternative explanation for limiting the outpost just crossed my mind....

Perhaps they are sick of too many players on thier servers. Mabey they want to cut the number down to the top 500 (the number probably needed to staff 28 uberguilds) or so hardcore players.

And it would seem Nevrax is tired of maintaing the crafting skills, and giving harvesters and crafters ways to meaningfully contribute. So, if they cut all the crafters out of the game, that advances them towards thier goal of getting rid of players.

Otherwise....well...this outpost implementation just doesn't make a lot of sense.

LOL. Face it. The next 28 outposts will be fortresses and a lot of blood will be sheded :D

Many ppl (guilds) piled up mats and dappers in every free corner of their apps and halls. This happenes since weeks. The preparation for war started long ago.

There will be war and with every consequence of war.

I take this comment back. Silly, cause not well informed. I just didnt read the website fully.

It starts saturday ? I will concentrate on that too.

I've waited a long time for these to come about in to game, really, who hasn't? I just wanted to help rebuild our societies... our towns and villages... farms, centers for knowledge... not bicker/war about a limited few.

But maybe the game I want to play isn't the game I'm playing. :(
