Massive Territorial Invasions
Outside of the major cities, many outposts exist that provide valuable services. There may be valuable materials located nearby, or they may be a line of defense against invasion - each has its own measure of value. These outposts can be controlled by players and guilds, but may also be attacked depending on their location and value.

Kitins

The Kitins are very opposed to homins, and will do everything they can to prevent the players from holding too much territory. Their end goal is to remove all homins from Atys. They start from one of their brood locations, and may send out armies to invade any regional outposts that homins control.

Kitins might also have non-outpost home locations in the wilderness, where non-combatant Kitins live. If the players find these locations and begin to kill the Kitins there, reinforcements will begin to be sent out to reinforce the area. Continual attacks and provocation can encourage further invasions, and larger amounts of powerful Kitins appearing.

Primitive Tribes

Each of the Primitive Tribes has their own outposts, which they consider home. Players may persuade the tribes to allow them to use the outpost if they have enough fame, while those that do not may decide to attack the tribes and drive them out of the outpost. If the tribe is driven out violently, they will regroup elsewhere and begin attacking the outpost until they manage to reclaim it. The tribes are very unlikely to attack an outpost that they haven't been driven out of.

Guilds and Factions
Once off the starter islands, players can form guilds by visiting a Guild Clerk in any of the major cities. For a modest fee, any player with enough fame can form their own guild.

During the guild creation process, players are presented with a variety of options for customizing the guild. In addition to a guild name and description, each guild also has a customizable guild crest which is displayed when a member is examined.

In order to increase the presence of a guild within the Saga of Ryzom, they can seek out a guild hall in one of the many cities of Atys. Once rented, these guild halls come complete with storage facilities and options to expand. Purchasing expansions improves the guild hall and allows the addition of various amenities and the hire of NPCs to handle shops, training, and other important functions. These NPCs can offer Actions and other abilities that are not available through normal trainers.

Guild members also gain access to guild missions, which are larger and much more epic than individual missions. These missions will often involve claiming an outpost in the wilds of Atys, and holding it against attack for a designated amount of time. Although challenging, the rewards for these missions can be great, and they apply to every member of the guild.

Are we ever going to get guild missions?
How about enough of the smoke and mirrors,"do we want trophy rooms"doh,does it take from overall vault storage??Is a joke!???So what that you can more easily read what your pointing at and that the color of the words your writing is different..How about fixing the Rites and turning on the guild missions your advertising.Look above please^^^^^^^^^those are your words not mine!That is the product your advertizing.DELIVER.And thats not some kind of animal inerds.The entire community that has been here for the last year and longer for alot is waiting for those above mentioned "Features" of the game to be reality and not just Smoke & Mirrors!

if you read the news and in development and the forums, you may notice that outposts are the next 'big thing' to be in game "soon", once they have been tested enough.

well, this is true :) we have had a handful of invasions since release :D they are server wide events, quite fun.... no idea when we'll have next tho.

outposts are still not live, so we don't know what they will bring...but accoding to communication, I don't think these features will be live soon. the first outposts may only be a first implementation, to be improved with time...

well, fame will get a full revamp, today it only affects prices and kill on sight on enemy camps basically... we'll see.

Well, yes... Is the Ryzom feature page a bit too optimistic? yes, a lot of things are not even implemented and we don't eevn have a deadline for them. There were a lot of good ideas, but being realistic, with limited resources and developers, Nevrax decided to focus on outposts and PvP in order to gie us a lasting experience :rolleyes:

We have no idea of what's next after outposts, but it seems that with episode 2 and outposts, we'll be entertained till December. After that, we'll see.

December = Year sub up and Bye for me and a few other year subbers that started on relece :P Things that was ment to be here from relece still not being implemented and probbly never will has left me really pissed at neveracts. The comunity i love, people are great just to much dev let down for me and to many friends have moved on.

Where are the

Ehm yeah, even though I will probably be around for a while these are things I'm still waiting for. Outposts may be on their way but they're not nearly what I hoped (was promised?) they would be (yet?)

The sad thing is, your list isn't even complete, there were more things the in the feature list I read during OB and I haven't heard much about those lately.

I really really hope Ryzom won't end up being a dumbed down version of the original idea because it was that idea that got me to play and it is that idea that keeps me playing. There are plenty of MMO's out there that all offer exactly the same (though none of them look this pretty) I would like Nevrax to have the guts to be different.

If I wanted an endless FvF conflict with boring PvP I'd still be playing AO....
If I wanted honour points for killing other players I'd be paying WoW
And if I wanted to drop everything and run to defend my outpost AO or possibly Eve would work well enough...

Episode 2 will start to roll out this week (or next due to French strikes). This will certainly add more content regarding missions, affecting the story etc. http://www.ryzom.com/?page=news&id=975

Outposts are next month http://www.ryzom.com/?page=news&id=1155 and just the tip of the iceberg. So if anyone feels the game is lacking now, then by December I think you'll know whether you want to stay or go.

Talking of EVE, two of the features in that game are a 5th playable race and Titans (giant spacestation-sized ships). Guess what? After 2 years both are still not in-game. I'm sure the same is true of other MMOs, it's no big deal just something to look forward to.

Way to build a straw man and attack it.

He wasn't saying EVE was great and we should all be playing it. Quite the opposite, if we wanted EVE or AO style PvP we'd be playing those games.

Fact is of all the material released about outposts lately it has all been about PvP and not one mention of any of the original Outpost material that got us excited in the first place. We have good reason to be afraid of a bait and switch and not like people have gotten much in the last year we've been told to wait wait wait.

Many of us would like the original question answered. How much is still in store for us? how much has been given up on? and how much is being switched out for dumbed down ideas (Outposts?) that resemble the original ideas in name only?

It has been asked enough times that one would hope they would answer it.

I'd just like to have an in-game child some day, then watch Thosam grow old and die the final-death. That too is/was a published feature.
