Logging problems

I enjoy the game, but, when you have to try 4 times and still not suceed to logg on - I begine to wonder if I want to subscribe to a game that gives me so much fustration. I play the game to relax - not get anger.....

Problem, I log on main screen, fine, (password etc)
legal agreement fine
select character fine - last stage....

the bar at the bottom takes quite a while to get to end and last triangle at end does not fill - freezes game - leave it 10min - still no joy

Reteat this 3-4 times - still no joy.

Note Web connect is fine and responsive - it is not that - I can go anywhere else and web works fine....its you - please fix it - it is becoming anyoying - this is how to lose players.....

If it was the game, how come it works for everyone else.

Sounds like you've got a router:

213.208.119.xxx is the IP range for the various Ryzom servers
ports are TCP 80, TCP 40916, TCP 43434, UDP 47851

Make sure to make an exception in your firewall/router for outgoing port UDP 47851. A lot of systems seem to like to close the connection while textures are loading up.

thank you for the suggestions - but is not router nor textures (i think)

is linked to where you are coming back to - ie for me thesos is usually a bad place to log into - as I think to much fighting is going on - so last bit of bar at bottom does not make it.


Now I logged out near kara dryaton to - the outpost down south - near the timarin. - and so far have tried to log in 6 times 4 in a group - then 2 (so far) - no joy.

There is usually a bit of fighting going on - if not homins - its the pups

I find this very frustrating - as I enjoy the game but its keeping me out.

feel I can rule out connection as the behaviour is repoducable eg theose

plases try and follow the bug and fix it - I know it looks like an intermitant one - but its real -

oh it took 3 more loggs and coming back 8 hours later - to get on last time ie the first failure - not the currente one - on chosen accout.

but started a new homin in newlands - worked fine - so its the program - some how the "final link" - not my connection

I love the game - but find this logging frustrating - please hunt the reason / bug

Run a ping plot - not tracert to check your network path to the servers. It sounds like you are definitely having issues of some sort. The info is in the Network FAQ.

We had one player on cable modem who could not play during primetime hours due to the way his provider had things set up.

Also, try resetting your network equipment.
Try taking the network devices other than the modem out of the equation.
Try a different cable if wired or moving the PC if on wireless.

something - is still bad in state of Denmark -

got on earlier 18:00 GMT - fine no probs

now 23:00 GMT
trying for 45 min 5 atemps - all fail at last triangle on load bar, this happens with 2 of my characters (not chected the other two) -

have put the exception in the port - for my machine

have looked at the trace for the jourmey - same as when working ok????

I am with ntl - have logged on at this time of night before -

I am getting tired of this - I just would like to play the game - any other suggestions

oh - have rebooted cable modem - no I do not have a second cable to try

It sounds like it is time to talk to your ISP. I have talked to other cable modem users who also have problems during prime time. Some have had success in getting things fixed when they gave the ISP a call.

OK - my son managed to log on for me at 11am GMT

I try at 3-4pm - no luck at all on any characters

try phoning ntl broadband support - there take is I have web access, email - the cable modem is therefore working - so not there problem

theye have noted it - but say they do not block any games - but have noted I am having trouble

So back to you - any suggestions

PS - have down rated all graphics to there lowest - am clucking at straws
