After i made a matis fighter of lvl 35 (20 craft, 20 harvest), i decided to leave that char on matis n00b island, and make a zorai from start with a friend who just bought the game.
When our chars reached respectively 25/5/22/16 and 15/25/16/30 we decided to make a trip to mainland, thinking that at least some easy missions could be done there, and that we could get easier level up in the meantime.
Not only did we see that the zorai players were scarce, but the levelling up options arent better than on newbie island, even a sprightly yubo was a tough nut to kill. The missions that are available are, for the most, not in our reach. Anything new we tried to kill or explore, death was awaiting us.
So my question is, what have we done wrong?
Considering the numbers of players we came across in towns we visited, are there any guilds that we could join, so we could get in a better balanced and stronger party?
I am aware that getting more XP on n00b island would in theory give us more options, but not only is this long, but i cant see how better things would unfold while exploring or hunting.
thanks in advance for the answers, and tips.
PS : i suggested to my friend to play pyros, since most of the community seems to play there, but i dont think a player should be forced to choose a race

Sprightly Yubos are lvl 40, no wonder it was tough at lvl 25. You should try Roaming Yubo perhaps ?auranoir wrote: but the levelling up options arent better than on newbie island, even a sprightly yubo was a tough nut to kill.

Ehehe ... try trykerland, it's a much smoother transition. Matis and Fyros mainlands are a bit rough after the newb island, Zorai is pretty ok.

Actually, A lvl 25 mage can kill them quite easily with acid-acid-fear combos. They are good targets till lvl 35 or so, after that growling/baying ragus are good for mages.ozric wrote:Sprightly Yubos are lvl 40, no wonder it was tough at lvl 25. You should try Roaming Yubo perhaps ?
For a fighter the kipee field is the place to be - the weakest kipees are dead easy at lvl 25.

Although, now you mention it, those kipees dont have the bad tendency to attack on sight (like some kitins we met while exploring), or to group defend when one is attacked (like some roaming mektoubs), do they?
I think i saw a zorai map in one thread, with the location of this kipee field being north of zorai island, surrounding ragus field. we ll check over there

They are not aggro, but social (aka just like roaming meks). Picking a sole one out and leading it a little away from the rest isn't as much of a problem, though.
