Yep, I love this game too although I may still in the honeymoon phase (5 months).

As my skills get better other things open up so I can't see myself getting bored for months. Plus the events, the people, my guild, the list goes on.

Check them when they'll have 6-7 months of playing at 5-6 hours/day. If they are still in game, that is.

i gotta agree that this game rocks..i've been playing since January and have yet to get bored. I have been reading the forums here for some time and not posting back, but now i feel it's time to. I'm now level 200+ in melee, mage, dig an craft and still look forward to getting home from work to log on, even if only a few minutes..I never have a problem with finding anything to do or people to talk to and just have fun with. I've read plenty of post of people longing for new content and saying they will leave the game if it doesn't change and soon. Well i wish the best for everyone and hate to see anyone leave, but if someone spend hours an hours each day grinding levels, just to get bored with it finally and demand that the game offer them more is not helping the whole structure of the game itself. One of the funnest things in game to do is the events....player made events....Once someone maxxes all levels in the game, they are the elders of the game and should step up as leaders. instead of looking for further grinding, they(and me also once i've maxxed out) should get involved in continuing the fun of the game by planning events and inventing the fun things to do. It's, in my opinion, how the game evolves in everyday life on atys. we are a good size community here and life on Atys doesn't stop. While the Devs work on the major storyline, it's up to homins to live everyday life..whether it be the grind, exploring, events, or event planning. I still have much grinding to do in game, and it's still fun for me, but one day i'll hit 250 in my last skill and wonder whats next. i'm already considering that and thinking of ideas for events and raids and just all around fun things to do that don't involve pure leveling. When i reach that point i won't complain, but i will step up and be a leader in the game to keep the interest of others so that MY experience on atys is fun..........well like i said this game rocks and i'll be around a good long time

There are a lot of people who've been playing more than 6-7 months and are still in the game.

I've been on Atys many more months and many more hours a day than you suggest and I still love this game. I have times when I get bored doing one thing (like digging), but then I just find something different to do.

Yes, there are those of us to stubborn to move on, hoping that Neverax will get it's act together before the lack of players forces them to close all servers, but I have seen a huge number of friends leave Atys, and check some of the older threads, you may be horified at the number of "inactive members" listed. We cannot pretend that everything is fine and dandy, or we will lose this thing that many of us love, warts and all.

And what I find particularly distressing is that if Ryzom is gone I feel (as of this moment) that I will be giving up on MMO's. Check out the missive dated Sept 7th on the Ctrl+Alt+Del site (no direct link because of language), which pretty much sums up how I feel about the current market. Earth and Beyond is gone and I will never have back what I had then - Ryzom comes so close! and in other aspects, surpasses them. I don't see anything to match it coming down the pipe atm. So, stubborn am I? Damn straight ...

You get bored of a game when:
1. You've beaten it - not the case here
2. You are way to strong to be killed by anything in game - not the case
3. You've learned the game mechanics and you can predict the next seps.
4. The game mechanics / algoritms are way too simple and predictible to be of any interest for you.
5. The advancement time (aka leveling) is way to long and the goal (level) is not giving great satisfaction.

I guess you did not understand the game mechanics (yet) and/or you are in full learning process, or the skill tree is way too complicated for you. Or you are still a low level and you don't need to work hard to gain 10 messy learning sessions.
That which does not kill me makes me stronger.
