VERY nerve racking problem!

Post by 3lement »

Ive had the game now, for about a week an a half. When ever I try to login, it gets to the windows (after you pick your character) an they all get filled in, but NEVER loads. Is there any way to fix this? (btw, i have talked with techsupport, and have been emailing them back, just looking for quicker maybe faster problem solutions findings)

You didnt give any info on your computer but.... I had the same thing happening on one of my computers that has a Radeon 9200. If you have a ATI card older then like a 9700.....one fix that has worked for many people on the locking up is to go into the Ryzom Configuration program and select "Open GL". The game will warn you when you go to start it that it recommends you use D3D but say no.

My one computer was locking up at load screen like you or sometimes getting into game and locking up shortly after. This solved it. There is obviously some big ATI D3D bug that the game creates and they need to get it fixed ASAP.

Yes, if I was to complain about anything right now it would be this issue.
And only because the game takes so long to get to this point.
I have been having good luck since I did some hard disk maintenence, ErrorChecking, and Defragment. I haven't had this happen since then, but I have only logged in twice at this point, so it's not conclusive. I also found that i had two pagefiles at once, on different drives. I removed the pagefile on my main drive and increased the other one to 4094mb from 2047mb. I think i see a difference in "in town" performance, but I have to test it some more.

using ATI 9800pro 128mb btw
