iirc with fame for both factions on 0 you will still be assigned to a side dependant on the allegiance of the race. So that would still be Karavan for Matis/Tryker and Kami for Zorai/Fyros.
Which means you can not actually be truely neutral in terms of gameplay.
With the hints of a possible inclusion of a Hominist faction in Episode 2 or the stance of neutrality during PvP/FvF I am really looking forward to how this will be played out.

Aye, when you start out you are assigned to kami or karavan depending on your race. It only changes side when the highest becomes the lowest of the two, which essentially means you can switch spawn points etc. simply by changeing your fame.
Although I think the two rise and fall at different rates depending on missions, so you might be able to raise both slowly with a lot of work.

Tested with a brand-new matis newb; created the char then ran to the FvF zone in KoD. Presumably there will be a "buffer zone" within which you can choose to be neutral; maybe if your fames are within +/-20 or something. Well, I might have a problem with this.
As a Matis I started out with a high Karavan and low Kami fame. I worked hard toward getting my total fame even with them both, which now makes me a big Kami follower while in fact I intended to make myself strictly neutral.
So now what? I have no intention to take any great part in this upcoming conflict, but I'm worried my fame could affect me in the ways I won't like.
