Yes.
A pair of gloves you can wear that boost the power and speed of your spells.
An amplifier boosts spells, you need materials to make an amplifier out of (amber, fiber and bark to be precise).

Got to leave. I'll try to summarize it once more.
1. Name quality of the material decides how good the material statistics are (which will affect the statistics of the item crafted with it).
2. Number quality of the material decides what number quality items can be crafted with it. (With quality 30 materials you can craft up to quality 30 items. Lower is possible, higher is not.)
3. Some item statistics depend only on the material statistics, and thus (as 1 says) only on the name quality of the materials used in it. (A quality 50 sword and a quality 30 sword, both crafted with the exact same materials, will have the exact same speed.)
4. Other item statistics depend both on the material statistics, and on the number quality of the item. (Of a quality 50 sword and a quality 30 sword, both crafted with the exact same materials, the quality 50 one will have better damage. But if the quality 30 sword is made with better materials than the quality 50 sword, that is materials with a higher name quality, then the quality 30 sword can have better damage.)

As good as I can explain it I'm afraid. But I think no amount of explanation will help if you haven't tried this out yourself yet, crafting items out of different materials and comparing their statistics.

To make it perfectly clear about quality and quality:

You die much faster when a supreme q250 source explodes then when a q20 basic source goes boooom.

To add more confusion. Just look at the statistics of an item, like its damage, speed, parry modifier, etc.

Taking the example of a sword:
If you are making an item choose materials to maximise what you are after, such as damage or speed.
If you are buying an item, look for the highest damage and speed that you can afford and use.
In the markets you will find that damage and speed are often independant of the quality or type.


The same applies to other items such as magic amplifiers, armour, shields, etc.

The quality (Q number) really only indicates the potential stats of an item. It is rare to find an item that reaches its full potential.

Clothes are a little different and this is where the type (basic, medium, high) really shows in the look of the clothing.

The type shows in the description, such as 'Fine sword of damage'.

That might be an even better way to explain it. Number quality decides the potential stats of an item, and name quality how much of that potential is reached.

As for the third kind of quality mentioned (basic quality, medium quality, high quality), that depends not on the materials, but on the crafing plan that is used. And this quality doesn't effect anything but the durability and the looks of an item.

Aye, later on you can use skill points at the Tryker crafter to get the craft plan "medium quality dagger". At level 150 "high quality dagger" and "waveing dagger" (which requires the same mats as the HQ one, but it has special animation tied to it).

As someone said, the craft plan governs the look of the item and how many materials to be used (which can affect the stats).

alrighty then ... about armor, someone crafted me some really nice armor and i noticed that the icons for these have 3 stars on it, as opposed to the armor i was wearing previously which only had one star each. what type of quality does this represent? the basic/medium/high quality?
