Firstly Edekar, I would be inclined to describe Ryzom as empty, but by that I dont mean of physical players, I mean by game content, The manual is pretty vague about the history and the PDF files that Larsa linked on the previous page imply a future that the manual never even hinted at. I think the publishers did themselves a great dis-service with such a lack of content in the game manual.

Larsa, as always you provide some extra insight to the game(....although your story was a bit pants.... :P couldn't resist that, LOL! Jane Doe?), That encyclopedia was briefly alluded to in the manual, but given such a casual mention as to even seem dismissive as to it's importance. this tension between the races/religions as it's portrayed in the encylopedia isn't even hinted at in the manual. I'm very intrigued by the last piece....maybe there will be an invasion by another faction, that would bring up a host of possibilities and alliances....curioser and curioser :) , I'm starting to be won over now, your work here is nearly done :P

Greetings, it's late (or better early) here where I live thus I just copy a post into here from Webbear, posted to the European-English server boards. I don't even know Webbear but I thought it was a very good post. I hope you don't mind, Webbear. :)

Where's the content? .... In front of you.
********************************
I rested under a tree. The day's hunt had tired me out and I could barely lift my sword arm. The Ragus' had been howling all night and the Capyri had snorted and bellowed nervously. I don't think any of us got any sleep.

The morning dawned crisp and clear. Cold mist crawled along the hard, frozen ground and twisted up around the trunks of trees.

One of the Yubos from the herd that had gathered near the tree noticed me. His curiosity got the better of him and he moved his head from side to side before standing on his hind legs and pawing the air. Was he trying to imitate me ... who knows.

I heard the bellowing of Capyri in the distance. They moved along a ridge line, dark shapes against the azure sky, in a slow steady line. Suddenly the line broke and they scattered. There's where the Ragus are hunting this morning I thought. Time for me to join in this chain and hunt the hunters.

********************************

YEAH .... But I wish they'de put some content in.

All the people complaining about the game having no content please open your eyes and ears.

Yup, if you're now fanatical of that W is ok, really, it'll wear off same as you did wear off with this one then ;) .

Well, thanks for that. However I do not really have an enthusiasm for the game, I like the game, sure, but I'm also quite complaining about the seemingly continuous stream of bugs we encounter. Sometimes it seems that each patch breaks as many things as it fixes, and sometimes even more.

However what brought me into this discussion here was that people posted that Ryzom would have no storyline - and that complaint I thought wasn't a valid one. Ryzom has a lot to offer to the roleplayer, including the most living, immersive world I've ever encountered in a computer game and a rich storyline with plenty of possibilities for players to get involved and to even shape the story.

For that I'm willing to tolerate the bugs and missing features for a while. ;)
