Hello from a new player

Post by trevaine »

Hello all. Just thought I would take the advice of the email I received and say hello. I just signed up for a 14 day trial. I am at work currently, so I will not be able to download and play the game until I get home in a couple of hours.
I have been playing MMORPGs for several years, and have played a wide range of games. Everquest and Everquest 2, Dark Age of Camelot, Final Fantasy XI, City of Heroes, Guild Wars, Eve Online...I am certain there are a few I am not thinking of, but you get the point. I consider myself a good player, but I am not a power-gamer. Marriage, work, school, and life in general prevent that.
I have been looking for a good game, and while I have thoroughly enjoyed my most recent game, EQ2, there has been something missing. I searched around and came across the infor for this game, and noticed that there are no classes. This game is skill based. Something clicked, and here I am.
I am looking forward to playing the game and learning about the community. Hopefully I can find a good group to join up with. If all goes well, I can even bring my guildmates from the other game over here. If there is anything I have missed in my intro, just let me know.

Hi! I have also just started playing, and love it so far. I hope all of the other new people I have seen decide to stick around.

Anyway, if you decide to be one of the good guys and happen to need a material supplier, then look up Radsul. :)

Well met Trevain and welcome to Atys.

You couldn' t have chosen a better time to start off with your Saga; thinks are looking good in the near future with Episode2, Outpost and Ryzom Ring on the horizon. It' s going to be interesting times for all of us.

While you are downloading the client take some time to go through the lore section on the main page so you will have a basic idea of what Atys consist of and what has been going on lately. Who knows, maybe one of the races' lore catches your attention?

A handy tool is Klients (euhm, where did I loose that linky again?), the support chat channel; if you are in need of assistance or just want to get to know your local CSR-team. Some of the players that can actually stand their insane chatter tend to reside their sometimes; so if you want first-hand information before venturing into SoR itself, that would be an ideal place.

Once you get playing don' t get put of by the refugee islands; they are sparsly populated most of the time and are mainly to be used for players trying to get insight in the basics of gameplay. Once you feel you have got a good grasp and understanding of those and you feel confident enough in your abilities, feel free to make the trip towards the mainland where the playerbase will be awaiting you.

Hope to meet you soon ingame homin.

Welcome to Atys, Trevaine! Come on over to the mainland as soon as you are comfortable with the basics. Players are usually helpful and will answer questions, show you around, etc. .... and, of course, try to recruit you into their guild. :) Ask anyone for help. You can use /who to see who is online in your region and /tell to contact them.

Real life does have a way of getting in the way of our gameplay...

Have a lil fun, explore a bit on your own on the mainland and you'll meet plenty of good homins. This will help you along greatly in Atys...
