Beastiary

Post by jajuta »

Does anyone know of a link to a guide that will tell you what types of weapons work the best against certain types of creatures? Right now I'm fairly new and using just a sword until I can afford something new. The sword is a slashing weapon. What about blunt and piercing?

I think blunt works best against plants, and piercing works best against armoured foe (like kipees)

Slashing goes through kipee armor, so does blunt. It does resist piercing, but not as much like gingo does slashing, for reference. Of course, there's always that ignore armor, but the stam usage..

But yeah, plants have a habit to resist just about anything except blunt.

That's fairly counter-intuitive, but good to know. I would have expected blunt to be best vs. something with a hard, outer shell and what best to use on plants but an axe or a machete?

Isn't there a list in the manual? Something like slashing is best vs. light armor, piercing vs. medium, and blunt vs. heavy?

Ehh... I'm sure everything kicks the plant-types' asses. I don't think blunt works too well on kipee armor at later levels....

Just learn to keep the species in mind and note what effects what. Kipee = sword time, so does Goari. Gingo = Piercing.. All you really gotta remember is roughly 4 species and stick with the for a day, then move on. Learn some.

I don't see why blunt would be resisted by higher level kipees. Then again, I wouldn't know. Just don't see the logic behind that.. if there's one in the whole damage type vs bestiary issue.

Try hitting psykopla or slaveni with a sword. No dice. Pretty sure psykopla wants to resist piercing too.
