okay, i just did some testing and came to the conclusion that the damage absorb system is completely wack. i'm wearing hvy armor + shield, that shoudl give me an absorb of 71.9% and a max vs. of ~210 damage points, but still a vigilant kipee manages to hit me for 170(292) which means that only 122 damage points or 41.7% were absorbed. the next vigilant kipee then does a 120/303 hit which is: 183 damage points or 60.4%.
mind explaining this behaviour?

Quick question:

You guys did actually make something new in the game a bit recently(the new faction pvp zones) yet it never got any build up, or an event style shanagans. I remember lots of Kitin in great outback for the opening of the new portal. Just wondering if your planning anything storyline related for more changes or just throwing things out there unconnected to any coherent plan?

Praise: Video's like the pyr ripper stalker thing connected to an event story line in the game are good (been waiting along time for this). Might be nice if you could add a voice over to them though (in three different lanuages of course)

See my post [post=217418]here[/post].
Try using those calculations and see if it still doesn't check out. I'd say in the first case the shield failed and only your heavy armor absorbed damage, in the second case your shield did work but as I explain in the other post 20% from shield plus 50% from armor is 60% total, not 70%.

There seems to be a weather condition "just before rain" or "just after rain", is this true and is the map ever going to give this mystery weather?

I recently found out the message "no mats at the moment" meant the mats are only available in daytime/nighttime. Is this true? Seeing as it's taken me almost a year of harvesting to find this out wouldn't "at this time of day" make more sense for a message?

Is the Fyros desert made of sand or woodchip or dried moss or what?

What change was made to bandit aggro range recently? Why did NPCs start running around? Are they in training for outposts?

"I recently found out the message "no mats at the moment" meant the mats are only available in daytime/nighttime"

In my experience this means (in the desert at least) that excellent quality mats are about to pop in a couple of game hours. However I tend to only harvest particular spots that have no choice, fine or basic mats so I may be judging the message on too limited a situation. The message "no mats in these weather conditions" I have learnt to interpret as meaning it is the right season, weather, and time of day for the mats you seek... but nevertheless come back later

yes, but that's not all. some mats (like excellent moon resin) only likes 22-02 time and odd weather conditions.

dont worry about weather too much, it only give you headache. enjoy the game ;-)

FvF is going worldwide. Will this impact on trading and merchants ?

Will there be merchands who sell only to the one or other faction ?
Or will it be possible to flag my goods as Kami or Karavan only ?

Or will outposts have merchands who sell only to the own faction ?

(Last question was rhetoric, i dont expect an answer ;) )

Harvesting question, it may have been asked a gazillion times before but I don't know the answer. A similar question was asked in an old Q&A, but not exactly this:

All harvested craftable mats have a specific purpose (craft parts they can be used for) -- usually 2 but in rare cases more, like Kitin Larva--. For example, shells can be used for blade and point, and so on. When setting up a prospecting action, the harvester may pick prospect for a given material (e.g. shell), or prospect for a craft part (e.g. blade). Also, the harvester can use 'minors' or 'majors', where "major" increases the chances of finding the mats and of course action cost and focus consumption. My question is then

* since the materials have specific purpose (ALL shells are blade or point) does combining both 'prospect for material and prospect for specific item part' do something? aren't both somewhat redundant?

* does using a 'compatible' setup (e.g. prospect for shells + prospect for blade) have an effect like stacking the chances? (e.g prospect for shells + blades results in a 40%, while shells only 2O%)

* does using a 'incompatible' setup (e.g. prospect for shells + prospect for lining) have a AND or OR effect (afaik it is an AND so since there are no shells used for lining it never pops up). Could it be changed to OR?

In the case that such a configuration is reduntant and thus using 'prospect for blade' and 'prospect for shell' at the same time a waste of focus: is this a remnant from past times where the same mat could be used to craft different item parts? is this a placeholder to add later new materials (e.g. new harvest materials that can be used to craft blades and are not shells)

I hope it makes sense and I apologize if this has been asked / answered before (in that case, I'd appreciate a pointer.. this is a question I've had for months)

(you may wonder why not submit a question ticket.. I did :) )
