Played, bored, quited

I've been reading through this thread and it has made interesting reading especially as I have resubscribed and not for the first time.

This was my first online game , i've also tried 3 others, WoW being the one i've played for some months now.

I deleted my high level character last time I left (Shadowblade) so i'll have to start on noob island, be interesting to see what difference patch 1 made to low level players as Shadowblade was 50 + when it was introduced.

Why did I come back, I still feel that this game has a lot of potential and always had. This game is different to other online games, it's a bit like a vertual playground with a few toys (objects) added. The game is lacking content but i'm not sure that's all together a bad point.

In WoW you can choose between several servers including RPG, PvE and PvP. I had characters on 1 RPG, 1 PvE and 3 PvP servers over 40 characters.
I used to think that as with Ryzom, where you are able to do everything with your character was a bad thing resulting in high levels being generally alike. But after playing WoW for a long time I see it as a good thing. Why ? Because with being able to choose different servers and different types of characters it meant many guilds collapsed due to people changing servers or creating new characters and other guilds having 40 members but only really 25 as some had more than 1 character. The point i'm trying to make here is that too many people playing too many different characters does not create a stable platform for a game community in RP.

I used to play solo a lot but the best way to play online games is to get involved in the community. Online games are also chat rooms if they were not then there would not be much point in playing them unless they are PvP combat games.

I wish I had a £1 for everytime I heard i'm bored whilst playing WoW.

One of the best things with this game is the community and the way the game tends to make a more helpful and less self interested player base, sadly a lot of those I knew have left. It will be interesting to see how the community has developed since my leaving.

I still have characters on 1 WoW PvP server and think it's a good game but this is also a good game (with potential) but a different type of game. Like the cardboard box someone mentioned earlier it's up to us how we use it, it's not all mapped out before us.

Well i'm back! It will be a new character but back all the same.
