From my point of view many things do look different.

For example i dont want to get my elemental nerfed. Elemental magic is by far not that powerful as postet different times. It is even less powerful for an average player like me with some exe amps. It is much more powerful with sup amps. Thats why PR is going to be harder and harder. Viewed in this light the heal nerf down there does make sense to me. If you want to be on top you have to get your hands on some amber down there. And you have competition who wants the same mats for top equipment. In the so called "endgame" every player has a maxed skill in melee, magic or both. The only advantage is a sup amp, an armour from aen or a sup armour, light armour.

Since everything degrades and with a look to more conflict (outposts, maybe more areal content and faction conflict) there is major advantage in owning top equipment.

Put yourselfes into the position of a Dev. Everybody tells you you should listen what they say. But there are so many voices. You patch this, one group cancel sub. You patch that, the others cancel sub. What would you do ? I guess you would go for your own thing, your own opinion. It is not possible to serv any opinion.

Everyone has good ideas and it is his right to post them here. But there is no right to get those ideas recognized and realized. Me myself has some deep wishes for the game i know i will probably never see them ingame. I urgently want leisure time activities. Some people play more hours then i am on my job. There must be something for releasing stress. And if its only paragliding pulled by my Mek :D

Of course it is everyones right to spend his money on what he likes best. But for the sake of the Saga, not neccessarily the game, you can not judge it before you saw the last chapter. You can put away a book after 100 pages, but you can not judge it. Lets try to give it a chance, for it was never like other games at all. Many of us are here for this fact, arent we ?

Patches should help Nevrax to retain customers, not lose them in some backwards sense of "improvement". Business wise if patching doesn't help them improve their customer base, then what is the point of patching?
Yes they should, and when a large proportion of the player base have a problem with a patch then that's a very bad thing. My point, and yes i was there, is that what happened was lots and lots of people logged in after patch 1, found they died horribly trying to play the way they did before, and started throwing their toys out of prams in alarming numbers.
What happened then was Nevrax made 3 or 4 adjustment mini patches very soon after the big one and pushed the game back into a more playable condition. There were some issues that took longer to solve, like newbie's on islands unable to kill suckling yubo's but again these were addressed.
The thing that really annoyed me about it was not that Nevrax made some bad decisions with the patch (which they did) but that the 'mature', 'supportive' community acted in such a way. and that is the type of attitude which is killing Ryzom because people are still *****ing about it now! You are never going to have a situation where the development cycle is completely transparent to the users it's not going to happen. But if you look at the changes that have been made with discussion forums for upcoming patches, player consultation, etc, etc i have to ask what more do people expect?
If you based your view of SoR from these forums then it seems player's want game development at their sole discretion. woe betide any plans that Nevrax might have for the future of *their* game. I would just like to see a little more of the much vaunted maturity that we are supposed to have. Luckly what you read here is not the whole story and there are many players who never post here or even never visit here. What we have is the polarised views of a minority of people.

The sky is not falling.

The _potential_ changes to magic etc should, IMO, be for the better in the long run, much as the infamous Patch One was, after tweaking. Hopefully this time less tweaking will be needed as we all heald forth on things.

While we have a wait still for outposts it looks like there's some cool stuff coming in the lead up TO them, which makes it more of an integrated story than 'Here you go, go nuts'.

Outposts should being a lot of people back, at least for a look-see and if Nevrax have any sense they'll back up their inclusion with a blast of advertising and 'cool stuff'.

R2 still awaits, that's going to be the biggy and could make Ryzom into an absolute dream.

I wrote from the position of an emotion, rather than one of pure rational thought, and as is often the case when one does so, I struck the wrong chord. Although my opinions have in no way changed, I will reserve my comments until such time as one or the other side of this debate has been proven correct.

THANK YOU!!! *hugs rushin*

It would be hilarious if there was an alternate version of Ryzom in which everyone's suggestions were implemented...in fact...*runs off to make a thread*

Not really for one side or the other here, but this is to Jyudas specifically...Do you really think Ryzom Ring will add so much to the game that it will: Renew peoples lost faith, add the missing 'content' people long for, bring new players to the game in numbers, be the determining factor in Ryzom's success/failure? While you did not say any of these things would happen, it seems these are some of the issues facing the game/community. The final thing I mentioned (success/failure of game) comes from the, 'Wait for R2' type retort I've seen in a couple threads when people get to talking of the games decline etc...

To the people who are frustrated after a year and little in the way in development, I say go month to month for a couple. See what they have up their sleeves. Now that their "Spring Clean" period is over, the game may see some nice leaps in terms of further development.

Personally, my account expires in 4 days and I will not be renewing. I've got some **** to tend to, so...you know. However the progress of the game from now until whenever I'm ready to get back into the MMO scene will determine whether this game gets a re-subscription from me...or uninstalled.
