The Karavan and slavery

Post by holina »

I write this letter since I've made a discovery with some friends that was quite... interesting.

Not so long we discovered that there is a tribe of slavers in Tryker lands namely in Bounty Beaches - and area where not many wander around. Once we have found their encampment we have assembled a scouting team to investigate the site more closely.

We were shocked when we saw that they even had some captive Trykers in their camp, but it was more shocking to see a Karavan craft hover above!

Later we attempted to free our poor breathren and although we killed all the guards, we couldn't free them. There was some sort of force binding them and keeping the tribe's chief safe from out attack.

We could do nothing but leave :(

It was strange that the Karavan representative in the camp didn't do anything when we tried to free our brothers and sisters, even though we were always on good terms with the Karavan, doing missions for them quite often and they were also helpful many times.

But there was one thing we didn't know when we left the camp and only noticed the next time we spoke to the Karavan welcomer in Fairhaven. He said the Karavan would be displeased with our actions agains the slaver tribe so they altered their standing towards us!

This was the biggest shock in all these events. How can it be that the Karavan are angered when Trykers, their friends and allies try to free enslaved Trykers? Are the Karavans allied with slavers?!

I tried to talk with many Karavan representatives around Atys about this, but they refused to give an answer. This is why I write this letter. I would really like a Karavan official clear things up... after all we are allies... or at least...

Thank you,
Holina

(ooc)

Maybe this would be an idea for some future minor side-event... or some such. Just an idea :)

I'm surprised Kami supporters weren't pulling this out on official events. This just screams pro-Kami propaganda if you want to convince Trykers to join the furry-cause ;)

Anyway, just something that's been in my head for a while and since the server is down, plenty of time to write it down :p

Those of us that serve Jena take many forms... albeit typically they fall into racial/civlization groupings, this is not always true.

Obviously the "Slavers" tribe (Fyros) have taken to following the ways of the Karavan and Jena and they have captured some misfit Trykers that were serving the Kami ?

Rarely do the Karavan agents respond, it normally takes a grand event to draw a reaction...

I agree that the karavan takes many forms, some even not loved by the Matis people. The southern Matisian area is poppulated by karavan followers that not even the Matis people like. And now it seems they are involved in slave trade. Who is to know the real interest of the Karavan... if they do not stand in one side and allies with the worst of the memories that was ever cast upon trykers?

.. ..

Ooc: real good info. Above im talking about The Slash and Burn a karavan following tribe that is scorn by the Matis civilization. Seems the plot is yet to be revealed :)

There are some dubious tribes associated with the Karavan. I think they will accept any opportunity to gain an edge in the upcoming war against the Kami. Recent events have made clear that the Karavan are no longer true representatives of Jena, and I think it is in all our interests to be wary. The Karavan may prove to be every bit as evil as the Kami.

I will do anything for Jena and the Karavan.....when i think about the kami are around BB and PR.It may be that the kami tried to convert him and the Slavers saved him.

All these tribes that server the karavan have something wrong with them. Be it experiminting on creatures, protecting the goo, capturing and torturing Tryker. Be sure that all of these thing's arn't reacted to by the karavan because they like us destroying ourselves.

It will save them the work later on.

the Slavers tribe in Bounty Beach ?
racially Fyrosian, positioned on the route to Zorai and Fyrosian lands ?

so the Karavan have an ambassador amongst them, perhaps this ambassador is keeping the slavers from raiding the Tryker settlements, and is bringing them towards civilised behaviour (always a slow and difficult process with Fyros, although some recent surgical procedures show promise,.. and there is a modified use of the Zorai lightening spell.....)

I am not greatly familiar with the Tryker lands, as valued allies it would be disrespectful for me to scout them in the same detail as those with whom the Matis may come into conflict, But I seem to recall that while the Smugglers are Karavan allies, the ravening Corsairs have adopted the disregard for homin life as promoted by the Kami.

The Slavers may be Fyrosian but they are Matis (100 civ) / Karavan aligned

The Tryker (-66 civ) obviously hate them for their disgusting trade

The Fyros (16 civ) still recognise them as brothers -they maybe working for the Karavan but this type of work can only weaken the Karavans influence with the Tryker

and the Zorai ? (0 civ) we arent directly involved with this tribe , maybe one day the political situation will change -id like to think so

I have only met the tribe once or twice, when I was attempting to 'help' some young Trykers out of the Lakelands, but if I rightly recall, they didnt appreciate Matisians as well as they should,.. not so crass as to offer violence, but a negative attitude all the same.

It is possible I am mistaken, and at some point when my duties permit, I do intend to investigate further

Well i didnt go to the camp so i cant say much about it.But pieces are missing from this picture.Sadly it has been a long time since the war with the Matis and we called the Fryos our brothers.Im dont saying they arent but that was a long time ago.The Fryos are growing more towards the kami then the karavan........Wait when the cities started to grow many groups left the cities to start new lifes. We may be dealing with a type of bandits.

As for the Silt they know little about the Slavers and are going to keep it that way.As said many times before the Karavan take many forms and watch over any type of follower.I may have an idea of why the Karavan are at that camp. They sent some of their own to the sidelands were they could help watch over our land. This being said the Slavers may be the main camp in BB so their isnt much of a choice.Plus the Karavan work in strange ways so be careful what you say,a new chapter has begun this may be part of it.So brace yourselfs.
