The Kincher always try to kill me.

I rember a situation that Gerder (named Kincher in Lagoons at Loria) attacked a tasty Yelk near the spot where I harvested a small amount of resin.

Then he saw me, aborted the attack on the Yelk, and simply killed me before he continued to molest the Yelk.

by that example about as evil as any aggresive creature animal or homin.

Kitins however do swarm in reaction to homins, hence invasions. I can only presume that kitins fall under the same sphere of influence as homins do in regard to the kami version of balance, thus kitin swarming is acceptable for kami to keep homins expansion in check. Otherwise they would have done a bit more in the great kitin swarm, but they were happy to let the zorai get eaten as much as any other race, though after managed to sway the fyros to their cause due to karavan in-effectiveness in combatting the kitin post swarming, dunno the logic there really :p .

there are 3 kitin hives in the lands we currently know of; Tunnel of Woe, Desertstock and Underwood Woe. There is evidence of abandoned or inactive hives too, such as withered stock and paramount stock. Each hive has a single Kizerak queen, dunno if these queens coordinate with each other or are independant hive communities. i presume there are other kitin hives elsewher on atys, in the 'old' lands and other forgotten territories.

It really depends on what you accept as proof. First of there is the lore, but let's igoner that for a change, shall we?

Homins and kitins consider each others enemies on account of the invasions they both perform. And let's not forget it was homins whom attacked first. Would be interesting if we homins could approach a kitin hive (queen) and negotiate for peace.

As a Zorai I find the goo to be the real enemy, if only Nevrax would let us fight it, instead of just mentioning it in the lore (and missions which can be completed).

I think this page gives a good overvieuw of the kitin hives hierachy and their tasks and roles: http://www.ryzom.com/?page=lore_atys_beasts_kitins

Its a hive with workers(kipee), gatherers(kiban), scouts(kizoars), militairy units (kincher, kinrey)elite Guard (Kidinak) etc

Edit , they even have an airforce, Kipesta's lol :p

Edite2(lol..): The reason why they see us as a major threath to their way of live is like any hive-like species, they are very sensitive to being desturbed in their hive(try destroying a termite hive :p , or bee's nest ;) ) Anyway the fyros desturbed the hive and the kitin saw that as a direct threath and are doing nothing but defending themselves the problem is, in te kitin's eyes theire only safe when homins are exctinct, at least thats the general idea i got from the lore.

I think the first question would have to be: Are kitins intelligent enough to make their hostility intentional or are they just following their instinct?

Now before you tell me that kitins have to be intelligent because they work together (patrols, invasions) ants display similar behaviour but I would call them intelligent.... :p

Haha, nice one.

My question was about real existing ingame experience you had, like the post of Trini.

They definetely leave their prey just to kill any passing homin. Then they go back to eat the killed yelk. They do not come back to eat the dead corpse of the homin.
