I picked me de middle option, comes closest to de way I feels.

Yer ding rate do decrease after level 50 iffin yer jus startin it, but iffin ya gits level 250 in at least one land, ya kin go purty fast till after 190.

Wot I likes: De discovery bit, heh. Any berk kin stumble on a special mob, named or boss, but thar be a special thrill in findin sumptin special wot also be hidden, like an exe-sup source. Dat I loves :)

Wot I don: De hideous number o mats I be forced to dig to level craft. Tho I gots higher levels in diggin den in makin, I tinks o' meself as more o' a crafter den a harvester. Unless I fights pat de "burn-out" wall an keeps goin, I canna raise me craftin very fast, so keepin goin either requires a supreme, steely, an indomitable force o' will....or judicious self medication :)

Also, gentle stanzas ain as gentle as dey shuld be, and, yes, speakin both as a master digger, and as one wot has cleared out de harvester trainer o' knowledge, material trackin is indeed broked. Disagree iffin ya likes, I ain never seen an opinion or argument 'bout de last two wot changes me mind, or makes me doubt me experiences.

I had to go with the middle option. After becoming "Master" of two lands (PR and Desert) foraging has become a grind and done for necessity only. However, I feel it doesn't have to be that way. If some changes were made to foraging that made it more interesting, and the best thing I can think of as a reference would be the fishing and BOD systems in UO, foraging could be way more fun than it is now. So here's hoping the dev's take note. :)

I reported the problems with the tracker about 6 months ago & was told it was a known problem. I use all the aids I can find (mat spec, race spec) but still fail about 8 out of 10 times. It is a real surprise when it hits the money.

While the harvest system is pretty good, it pose no challenges in the long run. When you have acquired the careplans it is simply a grind, all that is left is to adjust stanzas as you progress. Finding (mission) mats and dodgeing hostile creatures adds spice now and then.

Just for the heck of it, I spent some time makeing a LEGO system to punch the keys for me. Before you yell botter at me, it was don't done purely for scientific research, the LEGO bot have been burned and the construction plans shot (or somesuch). :D

I prefer to do other things, but harvesting (and crafting) is sooo much easier to find teams for. :o

Same fer me, I reported it in November (I tink. Mebbe December) an wer told it wer a "known issue" and dat dey wuz werkin on it. Ting is, it rilly do werk fer some folk, so dey prolly haven't been under much pressure to fix it fer de rest o' us.

hello :) Can you give an example? I don't use tracking much but when i use it it's always worked.. Maybe i should give examples of how i use it:

1) specific grade only no mat spec. ie supreme only in pr
2) specific mat, any grade

both these actions seem to work 100% of the time. When i get the 'the deposit is very close lalala message' doing a prospect with range 1 and max angle will find the mats, might have to do a couple to get a 360 degree check.

Maybe its more flakey above ground because an area can have many different types of mats all in the same place. I only grind above ground and never search for specfic grades but when i've used tracker to find say any fiber any grade that also has worked.

Tracking is the thing that keeps foraging interesting.

I can't say that I enjoy foraging, but I definitely enjoy the people I've met while foraging. I have the most fun when I'm in a full team and we're chatting away the time.

I sometimes use it as a non mat specific but with a q of exc or sup in Nexus. That has a very small success rate.

In FG I used it to find any resin and it did not even get close. The resin was over 100m away. When it designates mat position, I walk back 15m & then do my prospect with all bells & whistles on. As often as not, there are 'NO RAW MATS' in this area.

Using the same tactics, I have found what I searched for almost exactly where it said. However, that is very, very infrequent. Maybe we should all complain to devs about the inconsistency of the tracker rather than just forget it.

Ps. Rushin - I have not forgotten your kind offer to show me the pleasure spots of PR. Just busy organising todays range event & collecting loadsa mats for it.
