Anyone up for a trek?
Anyone up for a trek?
Anyone want to organize a trek from Zora to Yrkanis sometime? Or are any currently planned?

Re: Anyone up for a trek?
mmhhh, Zora -> Yrk's a fun one.. I'd say go the Fyros route because Tryker is hard
Or if you like hard, then try Zorai -> Umbra (or even better, Wastelands ) -> Nexus -> Abyss -> Yrk
Either way, I'm up for it. Gimme a tell if I'm online when you do it

Re: Anyone up for a trek?
Pegasus Foundation is currently working up a plan for a world tour starting in Pyr. It'll be Sunday in the afternoon (EST); as soon as I get a time nailed down, I'll post fuller details. Any help is appreciated, especially if this post gathers us more low level peeps.katriell wrote:Anyone want to organize a trek from Zora to Yrkanis sometime? Or are any currently planned?

Re: Anyone up for a trek?
The question is what do you want.
If you just want to go from one place to another place, then a big trip is ok but usually boring.
If you want fun ask 2-3 ppl and go with that small group. It's hard, perhaps takes longer and you'll get some dp but you will enjoy it.
And be careful with high level nukers, some of them start to nuke and can't stop it even if they should. (On my last trip two team of high level peeps got wiped because nukers wanted to go straight and fight instead of going around.)

Re: Anyone up for a trek?
I find that treks with no more than 1 team go faster than multi-team (more than 9 people). More people attracts more agro and creates a longer congo line. A skilled 3 person team can do almost all of the trek routes except maybe Loria, Bounty Beaches and the roots. That needs a couple more high level types for best survivability.szoszi wrote:If you want fun ask 2-3 ppl and go with that small group. It also depends on how many low level people are in the trek. The fewer of those you have to watch out for, the fewer people you need. I've done treks from Yrk->Pyr and Pyr-Zora with just myself, a strong nuker or healer and a single low level player and been fine. And, they go pretty quick because people stay pretty close together.
On a tangent, has anyone else noticed that Trykers run faster than other races (or at least than Matis)? Everytime I lead anyone anywhere, the Matis following always fall behind and the Trykers almost always keep up ok. I'm sure there are a dozen funny reasons people can find for this, but joking aside, is there a real reason for this or is it just coincidence that I keep noticing this?
Good point. Anyone that wants to help with a trek should do so based on 2 simple rules:And be careful with high level nukers, some of them start to nuke and can't stop it even if they should. (On my last trip two team of high level peeps got wiped because nukers wanted to go straight and fight instead of going around.)
1. fight/nuke only those that the leader starts the attack on or those that agro you.
2. no looting.
Anyone breaking those rules gets a warning and then should get left behind. I know that sounds brutal, but a long trek is hard enough and tiring enough without the extra headache of faster re-pops and increased fighting.

Re: Anyone up for a trek?
I believe everyone is designed to run the same speed (I have a vague recollection that this was 'officially' confirmed). However, run speed does definitely depend on your internet connection speed and machine speed.oldmess wrote:On a tangent, has anyone else noticed that Trykers run faster than other races (or at least than Matis)? I play every day with 2 close friends. For the longest time, my connection and computer was faster than theirs and I'd always outpace them. In the last couple of weeks, they've upgraded their DSL service and machines and now they're running faster. And I'm not considering times when there's significant lag and someone starts coming to a stop from the lag. In a steady, smooth run, our paces are different.
