my experience is that in PvP zones, you "cannot cast that spell on an opponent"

obviously my understanding is deficient.

Basic, historically we have gotten along pretty well.

I am sad to see OV abandon the last remaining pretences of thier roleplay SoR. You were all a strong part of Jena's force.

As the game moves more and more into PvP conflict instead of actual content, many of us will simply move on. After all, why should we keep paying for the 'privilage' of dealing with the gank-kids, when it is certianly not what we want to do. When handling gank-kids, the only way to win is to ignore them.

Saying SoR has potential is something of an insult, really. Potential means that you are capable of much more than you are acheiving. I fear, that instead of using the potential of the game, focusing on PvP will relagate SoR to that long list of games that 'could have been great'.

I think it's funny in a thread where people say "homins are killing homins and that's bad" and then proceed to gripe that a Kami and Karavan guild have found each other's company enjoyable and have acted on such.

Perhaps the old saying, "you can make all people happy some of the time or you can make some people happy all of the time," is more true on MMO forums than in real life... because damn... if people aren't complaining about one thing in here they are complaining about another.

This little friendship between OmegaV and Infinity... it makes us happy... all of the time. I'm sorry if you can't understand it... but we have plenty of good times together and that's really all that's important to us.

Clearly me starting this thread because I wanted to address an issue that had been raised in another thread and not fully addressed before the thread was closed is absurd and pathetic.... I mean... who does that right? Actually goes out of their way to answer a bunch of people who want an answer.... It is MUCH MUCH less mature than starting a thread entitled "eat me" ... clearly.

People ganking for no reason is bad.
People ganking for a good and consistent RP reason is good.
People getting on OOC is good, but picking and choosing when (or not) to kill inconsistently isn't so hot.

We're ostensibly a pro-Kami guild but we have links with neutral and moderate Karavan guilds.

When things flare up, as they likely will, and more people choose sides than as and when it comes to PvP and conflict we will likely end up against some of them In Character, but not Out of Character, there's a seperation between the two.

You're blurring the line in an advantageous manner to yourselves, in a conventional RPG that's called metagaming, or exploiting OOC knowledge and capability for IC gain.

I can only think of one person we've actually dropped over a supernode.... her name will remain annymous as I don't feel it right to bring other people into a thread without their own consent.

We have dropped a guild on top of a supernode source before. But... and this is a big but... it was not over the mats.

Another player I won't bring into this without his consent and I were on our way to the super amber node... we got a great vorax add... spent 10 mins running about trying not to wipe but finally did. A player from the guild we dropped came over... looked at us... and left. So... when our guys came... we got our rez and dropped the other guild. Later the guild came back and dug supreme right next to us... we didn't touch them... they didn't touch us. We hit them because they left us for dead. Pretty simple. We could have dropped them when supreme was up... proof was in the fact that we dropped them 5 mins earlier ... we didn't because we felt that situation was over and were ready to move on.

Further... We've dug next to Melinoe, Omega, ON, Yoshi, KoO... the list goes on and on...

Large guilds that could perhaps whoop us... and small guilds / solo diggers that wouldn't stand a chance.

If you need someone to hate / fear... we're happy to be it... but if you actually look at what's being presented you'll realize the only people that need fear us already know who they are... and more importantly why.

I wrote the thing... and I'm pretty certain that is not stated in there.

Moreover... I'm pretty sure this is the "general" section of the forums... not the RP section... and while I appreciate the fact that you are trying to RP here.... I'm trying to go beyond RP... and answer some general questions people had to their liking... if / when i post in the RP forum.... it'll be in character as that is what that forum is for.

Sorry, I got my info from a second hand source, not the mektoub's mouth, so I guess it isn't ANYONE that is digging super, just those that we are currently haveing a problem with. If I offended anyone, my oppologies, but I thought that was what the guild stance was, and I stood behind it.

Nice to know that that bit about what we uniquly(sp?) bring to the game was correct. Gotta admit, we do make a pritty good rallying point, eh?

Anyway, nice to know this is back to civil speach.

This sounds bad, but I bet if he was there first, we would probably kill him anyway.. It's a PvP zone - the whole point of making it a PvP zone is the supernodes. If I were digging alone, and you rolled up, and wanted all the amber you could get, would you let me live? -Zryos, Infinity

OOC: I think that all of these reports and announcements concerning PvP in the Prime Roots should be moved to the RP forum and enforced as RP only. In game I have found people to be, with very few exceptions, friendly and helpful, but these forums are always scorching with PvP flames because of the mingling of RP and RL ethical arguments. In my opinion, people should report random PvP attacks without fear of being labelled as whiners. We newcomers need to know who to look for on that /who listing and reprisals could be more widely organized. Ethical arguments should be left in RP mode referring to the Atys context, and should refrain from insulting people's RL morals. Such constant badgering over PvP playing styles seems to have eroded the RP environment and brought natural RP enemies like Infinity and OmegaV together. People that object to PvP or various types of PvP could post on the main forums about game features that they do or don't want to see but not about the PvP actions of any specific players or guilds.
